    aftermath of my 5spd swap

nope, not a funky stock cable, not a stock cable at all. i presume you aren't the original owner. -steve

The tips of my tailpipes are Black!

93tealterror- stand in front of your car with the hood up. you'll notice the maf has the electrical connector on the top at the 12 o'clock position. turn the meter clockwise 90* to the 3 o'clock position (electrical connector now toward the engine) cool? -steve

    aftermath of my 5spd swap

ya, because i change my clutch on "a regular basis" certainly the most desirable method would be aftermarket quadrant/cable/adjuster. however, i'm giving the original poster his options. maybe he is on a tight budget, maybe he would rather spend the money elsewhere if there is a...

    aftermath of my 5spd swap

as SuperStang83 stated it is adjustable, it's just usually broken. there is a plastic quadrant that is supposed to take up the slack. you can still use it - i do - it just takes some tweaking to do it manually. the easier way if yours is broken would be to shim the clutch fork end of things...

    18 x 9's on a 87 GT vert

i'd rather not recommend a control arm as i've no experience with aftermarket units. check with griggs, maximum motorsports. they have good quality parts. i think most tubular aftermarket c/a's (able to clear your rims) will require coil-overs as well. another thing to consider if you're...

    Possibly the dumbest question....

it's spring loaded. just ram a bar in there and pry it up. ok, maybe not ram, your baby won't love you if you do that. -steve

    Steering issues...

doesn't sound like ball joints, hmm. my only other guess is that you "fudged" (damaged) the steering rack. let's send this back ttt for another opinion. -steve

Modded 5.0 Vs. Stock 00 GT

2k GT goes down for sure. unless you fudge it up. without considering driving ability your car should have no problem taking a stock 2000 GT. i've taken them with far less but again, driver plays a huge role. -steve

    18 x 9's on a 87 GT vert

yes you can, but you'll need steering limiters OR aftermarket front control arms to prevent rubbing at full lock, rolled fenders. in the back it should be easier yet depending on desired tire size. probably rolled fenders, no quad shocks, aftermarket control arms and maybe something like a...

    Just got A'PEXi S-AFCII, help...

probably not what you want to hear, but if it were me i'd return it and get something more common to mustangs. it's not to say that unit won't work, or isn't good, just that it'll be much easier on you in the long run if you can reference back here for info etc. besides, a mustang specific...

    Steering issues...

does it almost "click" when you pass the resistance? if so, check your ball joints. other than that, maybe you fudged the steering rack?? -steve

    timing

you need a timing light and to make the most of it you should always run premium fuel when/after you do this. fill you tank with 93octane (or highest available), and turn the dizzy and bump the timing up to about 14*. if there is still no detonation try 16*. at the slightest hint of ping...

    87-93 Vs. 94,95

stock for stock the fox should be substantially faster. my friend had a 95gt and i used to put like 6 cars on him stock for stock with my 200lb friend in the passenger seat, no powershifting. of course his was an auto too. the sn95's have better suspension geometry, far better brakes, 5lug...

"Different Point of View" GM Vs Ford

well, it all started back in 19xx.... ahhh, no need for my life story. i fell in love with mustangs when i was about 8yrs old. there was a '67 vert for raffle at a local carnival. since then i've always wanted a stang. what keeps me coming back? performance/dollar, styling, aftermarket...

Is there a current vehicle that uses the '05 V-6 4.0?

please guys, can we stop quoting peak hp/tq numbers? they mean nothing...well, not much anyhow. it's all well and good to say that 2.2L 4cyl car "x" makes 240hp while 4.6 8cyl "y" makes only 20hp more at 260hp, but let's talk tq OR avg hp/tq and the 4cyl is out of it's league. put them in the...

    What does Japan think?

most people their probably couldn't care less. they've got skyline GT-R's and such to choose from. for me though, give me a black on black '05 with a big blower OR an '04 mystichrome cobra with mods..... -steve

    saw a Bullitt yesterday

i've really liked the bullit from day 1. i almost cracked and bought one brand new, but decided it didn't make the most sense given my financial situation at the time. looking back now i still really like the bullitt but i'm not impressed with the non-functional hood/side scoop(s), i'm not...

need advice. what's the most common cause for gear whine?

sounds like they either aren't lined up quite right or maybe had a bad pattern worn in them. i'd try to double check/reinstall everything (pita) and see if that fixes it. if not you may be SOL. i had used gears from a turbo coupe put in mine and they whine in a fashion similar to yours. i...

    Spark Plug Woes

is your prob with the wires or the plugs. i think you're talking about the plug. if so you just have to be patient and good tools always help. do you have a "spark plug socket"? do you have a good ratchet (snap-on preferably)? have you tried to put a wrench on the spark plug socket? that...
