    '68 side scoop on '66?

the '68 style seems to be thicker and has a rounder lip that should be stronger ive seen alternatives at mustang depot, but the outer edges look ugly and to clarify, I'm refering to the lower side scoop, not the upper side scoop

    '68 side scoop on '66?

I'm wondering if its possible to install '68 Shelby or California Special side scoops on a '66 mustang? It seems that the '66 Shelby side scoops are thin and fragile, and subject to breaking if I'm contorting out of a tight parking space Any thoughts?

66 Unisteer out tie rod (stupid question)

Yes, i have a unisteer, and there is just a jam nut and tie rod end. be careful that you have enough threads on each side. i think i was only able to get 1/2 - 3/4" of thread contact.

    Negative Wedge Arms/Shelby (Arning) drop

I have the same setup: shelby drop with GW a-arms for some reason this made the front sit much higher, but im using the shelby drop since i didnt want a weak spot from patches and redrills. also, my bolts are too long, and need to be cut down so they dont hit the headers. i currently have the...

New AOD to install and set up - ? about shifting

i went with a B&M shifter, lokar kickdown cable, and stock converter with lockup overdrive. the shifter may be called a hammer shifter, but its the one with a leather boot. it was either going to be $150 to adapt the stock shifter, or $250 for the hammer shifter. the kickdown was adjusted by...

    Seat belt retractor issues

I've been reading up on previous posts on the 3-point seat belt topics, but have a new can of worms to open. Currently installed in my fastback, I have seats out of a BMW 330i Convertible. These feature a built-in 3-point shoulder harness, with the retractor mounted inside the seat. I...

Change rear gear ratio when converting to AOD

i had a 3.4 with the AOD, and didnt like it. Didnt have as much pep as it i wanted. Since then i've install 4.11s. I like the low gears, but they do make slightly more noise. By the way, I run at 2350 on the freeway at 70mph, and got 20mpg with an edelbrock 600. Havent rejetted since...

    Power Brakes for a 66 v8

I second the mustang steve site. There are two ways i suggest going: 1) you buy steve's kit for a fox body setup in your car 2) you use your 67 MS with a booster from SSBC and have mustang steve supply a pedal with a relocated stud. then, get a brake push rod dog-leg adapter from rose hill...

    Speedometer Issue

if the rear end is a lot different that stock type ratios, you may need a gear reduction device that plugs into the tramission. when i added the 4.11s, i had to get a gear reduction since speedo gears with more than 21 teeth dont last long before wearing out.

    Putting 89 5.0 Into A 66

fuel pump depends on if you use serp or v-belts. if you uses all original accesories and v-belts, you can use the 289 timing chain cover. i went with serpentine belts and drilled a hole in the 5.0 timing cover for the dip stick. i used an electric pump. for the distributor...you will have to...

JBA midlength headers 65 mustang 351w

Have you checked out what Doug Thorley has to offer? They are also expensive, but I'm sure you want to meet all of the following needs: tall-block windsor with less clearance bigger cubes that need to breath decent length for scavenging clearance for transmission I have issue just meeting the...

    tire rubbing issue?

dodgestang, I'm afraid you're right. I have 4.5" backspace, while your 255s are on 17s with less bulge AND you have 4.75 bs (right?). In theory, a 245 is 5mm further in the fender ( .197", so just slightly more than your 1/8" recommendation)

    tire rubbing issue?

I'm concerned about my new rear tires rubbing the fender. I had them rolled, so there wont be any slicing from a lip, but id still like opinions on what could go wrong with this situation. I'd like to have these wide tires, but may have to exchange these for 245/50ZR16s instead. Currently, I...

    Which Headers??? 66 5.0 AOD

    Which Headers??? 66 5.0 AOD

The hedman long tubes will not fit out of the box. not to worry, not many long tubes under $500 will fit. i ended up cutting it near the collector and rotating it to clear the bigger trans. i also had to make a notch to clear the shifter linkage. it scrapes on the big speedbumps, but its too...
