    We have what I've heard Ford call "A modified Mcpherson strut system" in the front..... Plain old shocks in the back. In case you haven't checked the prices yet, ONE front strut will cost more than BOTH rear shocks combined.

    Dumb question here, but why did you take apart the connector? Do you mean you took the wires out the connector shell? I'm in the process of chasing down an engine noise problem so I should be able to take a couple of pics for you this weekend.... Just let me know if you want me to post them...

    You should be able to get the correct harness form circuit city.... just make sure you specify the year..... I seem to remember there being 2 harnesses back there, one for power and illumination and stuff, and a seperate one for the speakers.... Does anyone else remember this? I've done so many...

    $4800 sounds like a great price for a 98 with only 63K miles and new paint. Here in VA I've seen 98 V6s going for $6000 with higher mileage than that and original paint.

    If you go with a SPEC, just make sure the throw out bearing that comes with it is good. Mine was bad out of the box and I didn't realize it until it f-d up the SPEC. Ending up having to replace it a day later with a FMS clutch....

    Yeah, it works if you go to 17's from 15's cuz the even though the wheel is 2 inches bigger, the tire is about 2 inches smaller..... So theres really not enough of a change in overall diameter...

    going from 15" tires to 17". do i need a new donut/spare other then default one?

    I went to 17s from 15s on mine and have had to use the factory donut a couple times. No problems. Just as with any donut, don't ride on it too long.
