    tint suggestions

Remember that his tint was 100% legal in our state, and factory-installed to boot. My post wasn't to help people avoid getting pulled over, it was to help avoid paying a tint ticket. I reiterate - his tint was legal. You run the risk of getting pulled over for "illegal tint" every time you...

    tint suggestions

Just go to the eye doctor and say you get headaches coming home from work and you'd like to tint your side windows to alleviate the issue. Doctor's note, all's good. Co-worker got pulled over three times in a year coming home from work with factory tint on his Mazda. BS IMHO but Plymouth, MN...

Some ?'s about running staggered rims.

It's not tire width but the shoulder of the tire and how the fronts match the rears. A sharp shoulder makes for quick turn-in but tend to increase tracking with grooves in the pavement. Having a rear tire with a different shoulder than the front can make driving spooky at times, as the...

Drivetrain 95 Gt (automatic) Wont Shift Gears Properly

Have you replaced the plugs and wires? If your car has a distributor do the cap and rotor at the same time. I had an S10 that acted like the trans was shot but the dealer changed a plug and wire and the problem disappeared - load was causing the wire to short to the block because the plug was...

2002 Mustang Transmission Questions: NEED HELP

No offense, but if you want to control shifting yourself get a manual. If you are just leisurely driving there is no reason to be opposed to a stick. If you want to control when the trans shifts get a manual. If you want floppy paddles on the steering column to make you think you are actually...

    Sparkplug issues

hat's because the spark plug is NOT the problem. It's either the coil or a wiring short that is burning the coil out. And get rid of the Accel coil. Nobody makes an aftermarket coil better than the factory part so don't waste your money. Get your money back from whoever you bought the two...

help not startin right away but starts always

How many miles are on the car? I'd change the plugs. It probably could use a new fuel filter as well but I doubt that'd fix the problem by itself.

Need Advice Quick Please! - Car at Ford Waiting for me to call back

There is really no such thing as an aftermarket performance intake manifold for these cars. Unless you have a big blower or turbo, the factory piece is the best on the market. I don't understand how a leaking intake manifold turned into a choice between spending $~1400 and buying a new car...

    2001 mustang suspension

Bilsteins are rebuildable, even if it was bad rebuilding them is cheaper than new shocks. Just so you know. Besides the struts, is everything else in the front suspension tight? Is there play when you jack the wheel off the ground and try to wiggle it?

    99-04 2v header reccomendations-shorty and longtube

Good advice and well worth repeating. But what is the weight savings vs. the factory cast iron manifolds? I only ask because I'd like to lose the weight of the cast iron factory manifolds but not lose the factory ground clearance - it snows here and I drive all year round. Power issues are...

Should I use Mobil 1 motor oil?

Some people say running synthetic results in oil leaks. Those people would have oil on their garage floor regardless. Synthetic is supposed to be more tolerant of high temps. If my blower manufacturer said run Mobil 1, well, I'd run Mobil 1, since I already spent the money on the blower it's...

    head work!!

Port 'em, but "polish" isn't worth the time. Anyone who's worth paying knows what to do, like MHS. Call them, tell them your budget, and see what they say. I'm guessing if you are porting you might as well go with new cams & springs. Because I'm thinking the gains from cams is more than...

4.6 newb....im from the fox 5.0 side of stangnet

216104 mi. b/with new Falcons on the rear. J/K :) Nice trade. Please tell us the car you received is clean and in good shape, runs great, and has no issues. You and everyone else on this forum knows you stole the car if it's got less than 100K on the odometer. What we don't want to hear is "It...

    Tire age?

Sorry, my mistake. Don't know how I missed that. Anyway, yeah, I would be worried about 8 year old tires. That's not to say they are garbage, but I wouldn't expect them to be great. Might be worth buying to get the wheels, and you can find out if they even hold air with the car's weight on them.

    Tire age?

I paid $400 for a set of four factory wheels and almost new Dunlops. $500 for two wheels would have to be very nice wheels. The tires are a gimme at best, but it's possible you could drive on them for a few months. Tirerack sells tires and obviously has a vested interest in convincing people...

Spark plugs, self change or Ford change?

If it was "common," you'd think it would happen to you more than once. And few people would claim to have never heard of it. It's not like Ford didn't sell craploads of these cars every year for 15 years. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm saying "has been known to happen," and "common" are...

    MUSTANG GT BUILD

I guess I'm unclear what the point of this thread is. Unless this is intended to sit with a velvet rope around it, it doesn't make any sense to just buy a bunch of parts and bolt them on. You'll end up with a POS that handles like crap and runs pathetic 1/4 mile times for the money spent...

    100th anniversary Mach?

How do "people" feel about the authenticity of the Cobra Jet badges on the shaker scoop? Definitely a clean car, though.

my insurance co. will not give me full coverage on my 00 roush, who will?

Geico is crap. Go to an independent insurance agent as they have access to multiple companies and can find a company and write a policy that offers better covereage and costs less than the ones that rely on TV ads to get customers.

    Lowered the stang

IMHO, front looks too low. The wheel well doesn't match the tire. I'd put the isolators back in, but that's just me. And FWIW, there are no "nice wheels" that weigh less than the stock five-spokes. I think the car looks nice, just a bit too low in the front. Let us know how you like the...
