    9 inch axles

It sounds like the splines in your traction loc are not lined up. With both axles out, take a flashlight and look through the axle opening, you will be able to see it. Lining then up can be tough, you got to hold one axle in position, and rotate the other till they pop in.

    Heater control question

The switch on top is for the heater fan, something is wrong if you are blowing the fuse. Have the left and center knob down for heat. The right knob is for defrost, but you won't feel anything without that fan running.

WHAT'S NEEDED FOR COUPE TO FASTBACK CONVERSION?

Guys, we are talking a 66 body here. Although the rear 1/4 panels, trunk and some other sheetmetal is being reproduced, from a parts car you will need a roof structure, (repro roof skins are available) the entire section in front on the trunk, back window and trim, and countless other interior...

notching shock towers (dennis112 accufab question for you too)

You will get more room to change plugs. But if you look at the pictures, the shock tower isn't cut where the header clearance on a windsor is needed the most, down low where the upper control arm bolts. That is where most people need to hammer in the corners of the tower.

    I need header help

Not to hijack your thread, but I have always been told that a hyraulic clutch won't work with power brakes. Or is that just on the 65-66 cars? Do you have any pics? I was ready to go cable, but if the hydraulic will fit, it would make for a much cleaner install. Thanks, Rick D.

    Car won't stop turning over

Sounds lke your starter solenoid is stuck. Give it a couple taps on the top with a hammer. It is located on the inner fender panel near the battery. The positive cable of the battery goes to it. If that works, you should replace it.

Opentracker roller idler arm and P/S

There would be no benefit on a car with power steering. The original power steering idler arm is made to be bolted tight in the straight ahead position, when the steering wheel is turned, you are basically twisting the idler bushing, and it wants to go back to the straight position. This helps...

    Branda '66 Shelby Tach Fitment

Just make sure you mount it in the right place, or the dash will need to be really crushed flat to keep it from shaking while you drive. check out some pics of original Shelbys for the correct location. If being original isn't a concern, I have seen guys make a small bracket that extends from...

    Harmonic balancer questions

Guys, I am shopping for a balancer for my 351W. I thought I needed the 28 oz version, but I am finding that some are listed as 28.2 oz. (Summit catalog, Pioneer/Powerbond versions) What's up with that? Also I see Romac makes a lighter performance series, 6 lbs versus 10 lbs. Any advantage to...

    302 surprise

Part true, the 289 was abandoned in 68. There are plenty of 68 Mustangs with the 289 2bbl. engine installed from the factory. and I have seen 68 Mustangs with 302 blocks that had 289 rotating assemblies in them, from the factory. It seems they used up the 289 stuff first.
