    Aftermarket gauge cluster

That auction is for the more expensive programmable gauges. I think he will also sell them with the cheaper gauges like Mustangs Unlimited. I saw the gauge cluster at the SEMA show in Nov. The reaction from most people was the instrument cluster was a disappointment when viewed close up.

    Cracked Windshield Pillars

It is possible to weld and fill the pillars, first remove the lead, then decide, It varies from car to car, but it can be a large area to fill So you worked in Malvern huh? Not much has changed, still only one traffic light in town. Malvern is probably best known for Grumpy Jenkins.

    Cracked Windshield Pillars

The roof is spot welded to the pillars in that area, it is usually the factory lead filler that cracks there from years of stress. Some guys will just heat up and reflow the lead, but I would remove the lead filler, and weld the area solid where the factory spot welds are, then reapply the...

convertible top replacement. Should I do it myself?

I have done a lot of Mustang upholstery and plenty of headliners, so I though I would try to do my convertible top myself. It turned out OK, but I still have a couple small wrinkles in the sail panel area that I never got out, despite steaming it. Even after reading all the articles and...

    1967/1968 Pop Open Gas Cap

The cap to look at would be the 1970 pop open cap, since it is made for a flat surface. Just add the GT emblem. I don't have a pop open cap to measure, but the standard gas caps are about 4 1/2 inches across, so it is much smaller then the 6 inch emblem used on the new Mustangs. I held one up to...

    boss 429 vs 428 cj?

:bs: Let's see you back that statement up with facts. I am so sick of people saying "I heard" when they don't have a clue about what they are hearing or repeating. Reminds me of the Mustang II front end threads.

    OMG HEEEELLLPPPP!!!

Good tip! Been there, done that. I also put a cam in a 289, could not get it to run right under 2000 RPM, turns out for that cam, I needed to use the 351W firing order.

Finally got pics of that 66 Stang 6 cylinder coupe with 5 lug suspension

My uncle had a 6 cyl. 1964 Fairlane that had this same rear with 5 lugs, also had 13 inch wheels. I wonder if the axles would interchange with the 6 cyl. Mustang rear?

Vinyl top install on a 66

Most vinyl tops that have been replaced, or dealer installed, have the top material ending about two inches down on the windshield pillars, where it is folded over, then scrap pieces used to go down toward the bottom of the windshield. This method is illustrated in the links that tweet66 posted...

    Best solvent for parts washer?

Castrol stopped making this over two years ago. Some states were allowed to sell off left over stock. Check your container closely, something similar ( but not as good) is still made by another company, the label just says Super Clean, with out the word Castrol on it.

any tips on mounting a console in 66?

I bought a tool from the Snap-On man to solve this very problem. The tool is basically a heavy duty ice pick that is made to be hit with a hammer. The shaft is hardened and slightly tapered, so the further it is hammered into the sheet metal, the larger the hole. You basically position the...

    1968 390 emblems?

That is the correct emblem for a non GT.. All things being equal, (options, and condition), A GT is worth more then a standard Mustang.

    1968 390 emblems?

If the car is not a GT then the 390 would appear on the upper portion of the running horse emblem on the front fender. If it is a GT, it would not have any 390 marking.

You could have good fuel pressure and still have a filter clogged at the carb, that would be easy enough to check.

my Stang going for a full respray (lots of pics, dial-up warning)

As a bodyman, what I'm seeing makes no sense. If the car is to be stripped, you are just wasting labor block sanding and applying filler. Since a complete panel stripping includes removing all filler, all that work will need to be redone. Gap adjusting and bodywork is always done after you start...

    Mustangs fancy sister?

The 68 windshield is listed seperately because the rear view mirror was glued on. The interchange book is a good guideline, but often parts will work that aren't supposed to according to the guide. A couple of examples : 69-70 Boss 302 front fenders, early 65 mustang (64 1/2) hoods, and...

    Mustangs fancy sister?

I am pretty sure 65-68 Mustang windshields are the same size. Avoid original 65 windshields, Starting in the 66 model year they used a better safety glass.

    Inner Rocker Panel Problems

This is tough without being there and seeing it, but when this happens, the problem is usually in the rear torque box area. First I would check to make sure this area is clean, and all old inner rocker is ground off. Where you have your jack stands, may be causing your problem. Did you use a...
