    65 FASTBACK QUESTION

Those are the "pony" lights. A PO must have installed them, or replaced the doors from a car with the deluxe interior. By reading the warranty tag, and looking at your door panel, your car came with the standard interior from the factory. If it read 63B it would have been built with the deluxe...

Opportunity to buy a 65 Fastback GT K-Code - Questions!!!

NOT TRUE! the K code engine was available in the Mustang without being a GT. I had one, and I know plenty were built before the GT option was available mid year. One other thing about the carb, it should be manual choke.

    Rattle can primer

If you are going over bare metal, I would start with a self- etching primer. If you need to fill in small imperfections or wavy metal, follow it up with a few coats of sandable primer.

    Cutting tools.

I have done a lot of floor/frame rail replacement, and I would say the plasma cutter is the worst tool to use. The problem is, for a plasma cutter to work you need a good electrical connection, or ground. Since you are cutting out rust, there is not a good connection for the plasma cutter to...

    what's wrong with this shelby?

There are a lot of details that are wrong on that car, most are an easy fix, but for that money I would at least expect the right wheels.

    Sunroof/moonroof on a 65 coupe

I did one back in the early eighties. It took a fair amount of work, but the end result looked great. I used a '75 Mustang ll as the donor. The electric sunroof on these cars basically bolts in as an assembly, even the drain lines. Some bracing and studs needed to be welded to the roof...

    66 Clutch pedal assembly differences

You could get power brakes in 66, just not power disc brakes. Check your new brake pedal against the one you have for the auto. It is the same pedal, just the metal part under the pad is different. Many people "convert" their auto brake pedal with a hacksaw or whizzwheel, it's no big deal. If it...

    I'm Crazy, no Water By-Pass?

I think what you are talking about is the by pass hose that goes from the water pump to the thermostat housing. In the pic posted by 12sec67, the hose is not on the housing, the nipple it goes on is blocked from view by the turnbuckle. You can see in the pic where the other end of the hose goes...

8K Repro Rally Pac, anyone using?

Repro Rally Pac I bought a 6 grand low profile repro Rally Pac back in 1989, it is still working fine. The clock will run the battery down in about a month if you let the car sit though. I got mine from Dallas Mustang, who I think was having them made. I don't know if the pacs available now are...

    Unique Performance

How are they doing the fender flares on the 350SR? Are they metal, or fiberglass bolt ons that are molded in?

66 Original Shelby Axel Housing Question

You better recheck your sources. K code 65-66 Mustangs were factory equiped with 9 inch rears. I have one in my garage. Shelby did a lot of mods to his K code mustangs to make them shelbys, but replacing the rear was not one of them.

    1968 302 motor question

The "J" code 302 4V heads were not the best performance choice, mainly because this was a smog pump engine. To check if you actually have a 68 4V motor, look and see if each cyl. has a threaded hole for a smog line fitting. The '68 302 4V was the only engine in non Calif. cars to get a smog...

Metal Fender Flares for 65 Mustang

Does anyone know what Unique Performance is using for flares on their early model Mustangs?

    Bullitt Mustang

It has been years since i read about the Bullitt Mustangs, but I think the one with the 302 was used for the "jump" and city scenes, and the 390 was used for the chase out of the city. I remember reading that even with the 390, the car was no match for the 440 Charger.:( Mustang Monthly did an...

    '67 Convertible top fuse location

Since nobody answered you, I will take a shot. First off, I don't know where it is on a 67, but I do know where it is on a 65 or 66, maybe they are the same. There isn't a fuse, it is a circut breaker, and it is bolted directly to the starter solenoid, this wire runs right to the power top motor.

Shelby style deck lid for a 66?

I got mine from Tony Branda. He has someone making them for him, so you might find the same brand elsewhere, the gel coat is thick, and it is maroon in color. It took eight months to get, (although they told me that when I ordered it) it wasn't cheap, around 600.00, but bolted right on and fit...

the difference between 68 and 68 gt

I am showing my age here, but I remember in 68 you could only get a GT with the 302 4V, or the 390 engine. The 428 came later and was definitely available in GT's. My neighbor had a white GT with black vinyl roof with the CJ. Also, in 67 the C code 2bbl 289 was available in the Fairlane GTA...

    How to identify a 289 hi-po

The Autolite 4v carb is manual choke, the throttle plate size is unique to the 271 HP engine. I have also seen 67 Hi PO engines with the exhaust manifolds having a C7 number.

Need help from 69/70 owners with Shelby rear fiberglass!!!!!

I believe the spoiler trunk and end caps are available both ways, to fit a stock 69-70, and for the Shelby tailight panel.( maybe from different vendors) If you think you have a gap now on the end caps, wait till you fit the trunk, I think there is a 1" difference in the center in the trunk lock...
