    NEED HELP ASAP convertible header

You need a header panel from a 69-70 Mustang. the repro 65-66 will not fit. I have heard the Cougar is the same, but can't verify that. These are the only years that will fit. Not reproduced, not likely it ever will because of the low demand for that year. You need to find a good used one...

    66 Glove Box Locks

They were also available from the Ford dealer parts department, which obviously would not be keyed the same as the trunk key. If you do search for a lock, one other thing I have found out is that the 65 and 66 (also 65 with pony interior) are different. These locks were being remade in the early...

    1969 fastback question.

Actually, if it is a Boss 429 engine, it is the easiest big block to change plugs on, since the plugs are right in the middle of the valve cover.

    Shelby front apron, legal?

At a recent Shelby convention, I saw a guy mount his licence plate in the opening of the R model valance. The plate was trimmed on the edges to fit, and it was mounted on a hinge type of arrangement, that when he reached about ten miles an hour, the plate folded back flat. When he came to a stop...

In the middle of Power Brake swap. Need help fast!!

The pedal support from the factory, is different for the power brake cars. As previously stated to convert your pedal support from maual brakes to power, the bungs must be ground off, or drilled out. I have done this on the car, but pulling the support out would make the job easier. The power...

    64 Fastback

Actually the fastback went into production in August of 1964. The early fastbacks even had some of the 64 1/2 features. All had the altenator rather then generator, however.

whats the lightest prdouction Mustang ever made?

From what I remember, those Mustang II's were all overweight, over 3,000 lbs. Even the '79 up coupe with the 4 cyl was lighter.

65-66 guys with 351w swap... got a question

I have JBA headers on mine. Took a little dimpling to clear the lakewood bell housing, other then that, no problem. BUT, I bought them back in '89 before the price went through the roof.

whats the lightest prdouction Mustang ever made?

I think it would be a 65 coupe with the 170 engine and 3 speed manual.

Ok, so the rack&pinions suck... What are we gonna do about it?

Nope, won't work, when you turn left, the tires will turn right. I thought I found an answer to this situation. The steering box from a late 70's jeep is a intergal power unit that fits in the early Mustang with just a small amount of modification, new mounting holes, and using a column with a...

Finally! Fastback is out of the paint shop & flamed!

The car looks great! But in the one pic it looks like the scoop is crooked. What brand paint did they use?

    65-66 Fastback rear window louvers

Last October at the Fall Carlisle show, I saw a vendor selling a kit to fit a 65-66 fastback. I can't remember the name of the company, hopefully it will come to me and I will post it. but it was made of aluminum, sat just inside the window mouldings, were hinged at the top, the hinges had a...

    65-66 Fastback Aerodynamics?

I remember reading that the 65-6 Fastback has a better drag coefficient going backwards!

Transmission swap from hell... speedo issue

I did this swap many years ago, turned out I had to also buy the longer 4 speed cable for it to work. I guess the 3 speed cable was just streched too tight.

    4 Speed Transmission

All Hurst did to get reverse in the left up position, is flip over the reverse shifter lever on the transmission. This changes the pattern from the Ford reverse down.

    4 Speed Transmission

The Hurst shifter is what gives it that pattern, on most Ford 4 speeds. It is actually better, it makes it so you can't go from first to second and hit reverse.

    Will brakes from a 69 fit on a 66.

I have 69 discs on my 65 F/B, as USMC 1966 said, just change the outer tie rod end. It is no big deal, but if you have power steering you need a special tie rod end on one side, (or a spacer) I think Mustang Steve makes this part.

    Painting my toploader...

I have only seen cast iron top loaders. I had mine hot tanked when it was apart. Castrol Super Clean should work well if yours is assembled. I then painted it with "Cast Blast" and it has held up for over ten years. Just do not paint the part that is bolted to the bellhousing.

    Will a rally-pac work for a 200ci?

I believe converting a Rally Pac to 6 cyl. use, only requires a resistor across the two tach leads. I am not sure what value resistor, but I am sure you could get the parts at Radio Shack for under 5 bucks. I think I read how to do this conversion years ago in Mustang Monthly.
