    1992 LX 5.0 hatchback

1992 LX 5.0 hatchback (built 306, h/c/i/s-trim/etc) To start, I'm pretty bummed about posting this ad. :( If you search my username, you'll find years of posts while I built and enjoyed this car. I tried to give this car the best I could, and my intent was to build a very quick, fun street...

Guys with gauges under their radios....in here

You saw the pic below this one, right? Gauges in place of the HVAC panel, up high and easily visible. The black panel is practical enough, imo. People have been running this type of setup for years. However, your opinion is respected. :flag:

Guys with gauges under their radios....in here

Not trying to stop you from ordering, since all of these are just test pieces, but here's a few ideas I've been working on regarding this topic: Keeping the factory "bend" is important to me, as the flat panels just don't look correct to me. They're not bad, but something seems off IMHO...

    87-93 replacement door speaker panels?

Here's the thread where I detailed the step-by-step of my entire audio system install. The door panel construction begins near the bottom of the first page: http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/531956-return-custom-audio-build-diary.html Click the link in my signature. I'm with you on...

My 92 LX 5.0 It's been a fun project, and is now mostly relegated to Sunday joyrides and for testing various things I'm working on.

    87-93 replacement door speaker panels?

That's the idea. :D The outside shape is exactly the same as the stock grill. It flows into the map pocket just as the original part. I'll show a pic of this as soon as I can snap one. :flag:

    87-93 replacement door speaker panels?

Thanks for the enthusiasm, but let's please not get this thread closed. :nice: Should I try a 6.5" version? It would be a bit bigger/bulkier on the door, but it's certainly doable. I really liked how this fit the car (5.25"), and will try to get some pics tomorrow in-car. Definitely...

    87-93 replacement door speaker panels?

Good question. I haven't decided on that yet. The OEM grill has one screw and some mounting clips. I think I'm going to delete the screw, and shoot for an install with no visible fasteners. They're a pet-peeve of mine, haha.

    87-93 replacement door speaker panels?

Lately, I've been tinkering in my shop with a new machine and I've been looking for a "subject" to work with. Since I still get PMs from people wanting me to build them a copy of my 92's door speaker pods, I decided to make this my subject. It's not an *exact* copy, since I was curious to see...

    Help with Gauge decision

Haha, will do! You do know you'll have to drill the dash for wiring and (maybe) mounting the part? Just checking, as you know this mod is permanent once performed.

    Help with Gauge decision

Looks like this will happen, although work has NOT started on the project yet. The three-pod setup shown is not designed for the fox, but used for photo purposes. I've added some new equipment to my shop, so I'll be testing it out while making some of these parts. I make sure a dual...

    Help with Gauge decision

Still in the market for something? I've been doing some work on this in the past week, actually! It's funny I found this thread on a quiet Sunday morning. The dash-top setup is likely to make its way to production. I'm thinking of doing a double and a triple version. Any reason to do more...

Access door for rear seat delete

Mustang Rear Seat Delete Kits | Custom Rear Seat Delete.com  I like Keith's work, but I'm a DIY guy when it comes to stuff like this for my own car. In place of a hinged panel, you could also make flush, press-fit covers for the storage compartment(s). A router with a 1/2" or...

where are you guys mounting your ignition boxes?

My 6al is in the driver side inner fender, basically on the other side of the battery (stock location). Puts it very close to the coil and battery. Bent a piece of sheet metal into an "L" bracket, mounted one half to the inner fender metal and the other half is where the 6al is mounted. I'd...

Nice! I bet that's fun to drive. :D What pulley is on the blower? We have a fairly similar combo, it seems.

Finally back to doing some Fox body custom work!

This is true, however I think most people would prefer your setup with the radio relocated higher. In my own fox, I have 2 DIN spaces taken up with a CD player and two 1/2 DIN signal processors. My HVAC controls are in the factory location. Thanks for the props on my work so far. After a...
