Help Me! Turn Signal Wiring issue

Definately the metal copper plates you show in your pictures are screwed. You will need a new installation kit if you wish to re-use the same setup. The installation kit comes with a small capsule of lube as mentioned by pabear89. I have a kit that I didn't use right in front of me with...

    horn short ?

Sorry if I am sounding like a broken record here but I think the horn set-up on grant steering wheels is garbage. Honestly I would like to know how many guys who have them that actually work properly and safely? I was so disgusted with my grant horn steering wheel set-up, I clipped the wires...

    Granada questions, not just brakes.

This is a very good thing to know! This is why I love this site. It just makes so much sense. Why have all these portioning valves to get everthing tweeked just so. I may have to change my set-up? I imagine T's are relatively easy to obtain?

    horn short ?

Considering that the current from your horn is always live unless properly switched off. I suppose that if you have disconnected them in the steering column and they are not terminated properly then they could be shorting out or otherwise causing you trouble. Do you have more details?

    Granada questions, not just brakes.

Anybody who has done this swap I'm sure will agree that the line bending and trying to align the fittings/lines with the PV or master cylinder, then making sure everything is tight and not leaking is definately a PITA. I have a granada PV and a wilwood rear brake line portioning valve, aswell...

    Granada questions, not just brakes.

I did the same swap, I purchased the 74 Maverick Manual front disc and rear drum style master cylinder. Yes you will probably need to get reduction fittings for the MC. I was using 3/16 pre-flared/fitted brake lines that I was bending myself. They threaded into the proportioning valve from...

Help Me! Turn Signal Wiring issue

I had to replace my turn signal switch when I first got my car. Look at it very carefully to make sure it is not damaged inside. Inparticular the plastic/nylon pieces. Does the switch do the auto return thing after you straighten the steering wheel? I believe there is a pin...

Help Me! Turn Signal Wiring issue

What kind of steering wheel do you have? Could it be a Grant? They are famous for shorting etc. Especially the horn contacts. Did you happen to notice if the smoke was coming from up by the steering wheel? I wound up cutting the horn wires and pulling them back through the steering column...

    Vin decoding

I admire your courage geostang351! I looked at these numbers and shyed away from it. But this is what I would have guessed them to be. I have a question for 75 Mustang II, were these numbers off of an actual alumium data tag? Or where they stamped into the fender apron? Do any of these...

    Installing Traction Bars?

The Shelby Under-rider traction bars have a square/rectangle plate that bolts/mounts to the bottom of the spring perch which makes it necessary to remove the nuts on the U-bolts. In my case I had to purchase slightly longer u-bolts because adding the traction bars made the old u-bolts unusable...

    Help me trouble shoot brakes?

Update It was the wheel cylinder. Switched both of them out (rears) and no more air when I bleed all the wheels. Looks like they had got tightened to much at some point (probably me) . It had crushed the inside cone/mating surface where the flare end of the brake line meets the wheel...

    Help me trouble shoot brakes?

Just did a rear brake job. Did not replace wheel cylinders. Seem to have problems with the rear drivers side I can't seem to get rid of the air when I try and bleed this cylinder. The rear passengers side I can get rid of any excess air no problem. My guess is that the rear drivers side...

    Speedometer

It should also be held in by the speedo cable itself, from behind. This can be a pain to undo. It is threaded onto the back. Put a cloth or something on the steering shaft sleeve otherwise it will get scratched. You may have to get some extended pliers to get it loose if you can even fit...

Looking for feedback on tires & backspacing question?

Maybe the tire guy was trying to sell me new rims for a good commision? He wasn't anybody I new or trusted. My car was just converted from a 6 cylinder drive train to a V8 rearend and drivetrain that is why I am gathering info. because in this case the old rims definately won't work. Sorry, I...

    rear leaf spring help

I recently replaced my rear leafs and I noticed when I went to pick them up that the arch wasn't the same as the old tired ones It was less. I purchased them from a spring manufacturing facility here in my city and the guy took the old one and rearched the new ones to match the old arch. I...

Looking for feedback on tires & backspacing question?

I have a 289 65 coupe which I have done the Granada swap on (8 in. rearend). Also I have some 15 x 7 rims with 4.25 in. backspacing. Looking to put some 225/60/15's on these rims. I'm sure lots of you guys have a similar set-up? My main question is, am I going to have any problems with tires...

    Traction Bars

The general concensus when I asked a similar question recently was that when you weld them on, your suspension should be loaded. When done in a shop they would put it up on a drive on ramp and weld them. Not sure if the angle on ramps would affect things or not. I doubt it.

Frame rail seems to be missing.

Frame Rails I recently did my rear frame rails. If you have it apart and can see that it is in this bad of shape I would recommend at least doing a patch section for the frame rail. If you look on a site like mustangs unlimited you should be able to find a patch section and cut out what you...
