    Full Length Subframes are worth every penny

    Any ragtop owner needs full length subs no atter what year! Mine also tie into the front seat supports to help keep the floorpan from failing.

    I say go for it and if it blows rebuild it. I dont think the tranny will be much of a problem as superchargers dont put out quite as much torque as turbochargers do and that is what kills most trannys!

    replacing plastic outer door handles.

    For a quality door handle go with BBK and not some of the slightly cheaper ones from others that save you $5 but make it feel like crap everytime you open your door. They cost about half as much as Ford but dont come with 50 cent rivets.

    manual or auto

    I vote for a manual 5 speed T5 especially after I put in my new King Cobra clutch kit and now the pedal is smooth and efortless. I think it reduced the clutch pedal effort by 75% and that is no hyperbole.

    how long do t-5's last?

    Mine lasted 120,000 miles with the fluid never ever changed and neither was the clutch. I updated mine to Z specs as well as putting in a full repair kit and expect it to last at least another 120,000 with synthectic fluid this time. It is not abused and I dont have much more than stock power.

    Tubular A Arms

    Are there any tubular A arms that will last on a street car and not require using a tubular K member or cpoilovers? Trying to save weight and get a more responsive handling stang as my 87 vert feels real nose heavy.

    would I lose power switching to a 3" muffler? currently have 2 1/2"

    I dont think there is any issues exept it wont make any performance difference if you are going thru a stock cat and stock pipes.Fitment may be a problem. Sounds may be Ok but not sure as I have never seen or heard such a system.

    Go to Astro performance warehouse and get the 2.95 Super Alloy gearset which includes 1st and 2nd and 3d gears, new input shaft, and a cluster. Makes the box Z rated to boot. astroperformance.com is where I found them and at 5.0 Mustang.

    Urethane vs Rubber tranny mounts

    HISSIN50 I did replace my crossmember bushing with poly but after 120,000 miles and 17 years they were really in good shape. Now my tranny mount was showing its age.

    Dbeck002, that is why I went with the 2.95 gearset. Fifth gear is not quite as good as stock for ultra cruise but close very close!!

    I went to 3.73 and hated the highway rpm's. I am using near stock diameter tires/wheels (245/45/16) so I went with a 2.95 gearset and love the results. Great acceleration and a large step down in rpm's on the highway. Almost the best of both worlds for me.

    Ahhhh !! Windshield molding is kicking my butt!

    I got molding off a newer Stang on eBay and got lucky it all fit. I then painted the molding when I painted my car and it all looks great. Mine fit in and I didnt use any silicone cause I had them removed when I repainted about 3 mo later.
