    Windshield removal?

I learned a couple days ago from another thread that in order to do my full floor pan I will need to remove my windshield. I was going to do it anyway because it's all scratched up. So how do I do it? I searched around on here and the internet a little but I didn't find any good early...

    full floor board

Good info. I'm actually about to attempt this same thing myself. I have the full pan, toe boards, trans tunnel brace, and 2 front frame rails to go in. The car was rusted out pretty bad and the PO did a terrible hack job of fixing it (panels screwed in above and below the rotten ones). I'm...

my Stang going for a full respray (lots of pics, dial-up warning)

Beautiful:nice: I knew there must be a way to do this without buying that damn $250 tool.

    aftermarket seats, harnesses

I'd get a smaller wheel if you're using it on the track; making hard turns with the stock wheel is like slaloming in a school bus.

    aftermarket seats, harnesses

I'm putting an 8 point bar in the 66 fastback, and I'm going to upgrade the seats and belts. I've looked around on here and I see people saying it's no problem to put pretty much any ford seat there is into these cars, so I'm going to go junkyarding and see what's out there. If I don't find...

    Stock 6-cylinder cam timing?

Does anybody know the stock cam specs for a 170 or 200 six (or any stock mild inline 6 cylinder engine)? I'm taking an engines class in school and I lost 2 points on a test because I said the exhaust valve should be closed 5* after TDC on the intake stroke.:bs: They taught us that it should...

    JMC HYDRAULIC CLUTCH QUESTIONS

I don't remember who I got it from, not JMC, but it came in a JMC box with JMC instructions. Another thing that bothered me about it was that to bleed it I had to run brake fluid out all over my long tube headers and it ate the coating off. Not to thread-jack, but is anybody running a...

    JMC HYDRAULIC CLUTCH QUESTIONS

I have the JMC system on my car and I think it's garbage. Besides the fact that it's damn near impossible to bleed, it has an inherent design flaw so that even when it's bled completely and everything is working perfectly, the slave cylinder doesn't have enough motion to completely...

    Por 15....

Can you use it on painted metal? I ordered new floor pans and I'm thinking about POR-15ing them, but they already have a good coat of black paint on them and I don't want to try to get that off.

    finding a machine shop

I'm looking for a shop to deck my block and heads, and do some other work on the heads (ports, bowl work, valves). I looked on yellowpages.com for machine shops near Blacksburg and came up with nothing. Is there a registry of good automotive machine shops somewhere?

    help me ID this block

Nah, 35 thousandths on the dial caliper. The speed pro guy said that with a 75 302 block (I didn't tell him it was mexican), I have the taller deck height, and my pistons should be about .034" from the top, which is in line with what I measured. Maybe even closer. I should have asked him what...

    help me ID this block

Well according to the guy I talked to yesterday from speed-pro, these have the 1.605" compression height, so that's good. How do I measure deck height? Thanks for all the help. It's crazy that all this time I thought I was running around 9.5:1 compression and it was closer to 8. I was...

    piston ID

Is there enough material there to open them up enough for the 2.02" valves?

    piston ID

So what do these look like? I called speed pro and the guy told me they're 2.7, but I don't think he knew what he was talking about.

    help me ID this block

What is the deck height for a 75 mexican 302? I just talked to speed pro (pistons) and they said that the pistons that I have in my block (L2484 0.030) won't give me 10:1 compression no matter what my combustion chamber volume is because the deck height is too high. He said that the...

    help me ID this block

It's a mexican block 302. I found this thread about decoding numbers, but according to that, the ID number is supposed to start with a letter. Mine starts with a 7. 75ZY-6015-AA above the starter 5-J5 on the other side and "HECHO IN MEXICO" on the top Do the mexican blocks...

    piston ID

Well I bought the heads (edelbrock performers) new and never had them machined, so I know they're 60cc chambers. The pistons are aftermarket and they're forged so I'm pretty sure the reliefs are up to the task of the 2.02" valves. I guess I should just call a couple cam companies and see...

    piston ID

A few years ago when I built my 302 I bought speed pro forged pistons from Jeg's. At the time, they only had 1 set in their catalog for a 302, now they have 3. I'm about to redo the top end of my engine, and I need to know some things about the pistons so I know how much to deck the heads, how...

How much $$$ for a decent soundsystem?

It will cost you a little more, but if you want good sound I'd recommend component speakers in the front. I have infiniti 6.5" 2-way component speakers in mine and they sound great. The lows and mids come from the big part in the kick panels and I have the tweeters mounted in my dash pointed...

    My headers wont fit

Sometimes you have to apply some hammer to a header tube to get a little clearance. My long tubes ran into my lakewood scattershield just a little, some blows from the hammer fixed the problem.
