That sounds about right... :nice: Also, the combustion chamber is 42.45cc, intake valves are 1.752 inches and exhaust valves are 1.417 inches. The rockers are 1.81:1. :D

    stroker and emissions

They have no way of knowing what your displacement or compression are, but you will need to make sure all of your smog equipment is functioning, and keep the air-fuel ratio @ 14.7:1 and you should pass. Every fuel injected car I had when I lived in San Diego put out no more than 10% what was...

12 Gauge between the eyes, then feed the bastard to the lions... :chair: You are probably going to have to have it repainted... :fuss:

:rlaugh: ...with an iridescent "Bite Me" logo... Just kidding about the logo, but I agree...screw stupid laws like this one. :nice:

Bad Gas Mileage**So.Cal owners please chime in**

91 octane runs about $1.73 here, 87 is $1.46 so I guess it isn't as bad as it could be. :bang:

Mustangs are Death Chariots in the rain, its Amazing

Parking lots work better for that, but it is good to learn where the limits are for your car. :nice:

    octane boosters

More like 15... :rlaugh: It takes a little over 1 gallon of octane to raise the octane level of 20 gallons of 87 octane gasoline to 93. I don't know what the actual octane rating of toluene is, but you are looking at a lot of octane booster to make up the difference. :nice:

Mustangs are Death Chariots in the rain, its Amazing

Anyone who has driven a rear wheel drive car with any reasonable amount of power already knows better than to goose the accelerator in a turn. For those of you who've only driven rice burners, this may be a new revelation, but nobody should be foolish enough to do something like that a second...

    Chip vs ECU flash

It would be invisible to most dealerships because they don't know which version of code your PCM should have. They might discover it if they check the code on the PCM, but they would probably just reflash it back to the original code and then scratch their heads for a couple of weeks trying to...

I agree; it seems far more disconcerting to me when the front tires break loose in a turn... :D

    Car won't stay running(theft light)

You should check the wiring out under the steering column and around the PATS/transciever. If the wiring is OK, you may want to invest in a new transceiver for the PATS, that is a likely cause of your problem. :nice:

    Opinion Poll

I agree, you would likely discover that it is a major PITA to install a modular motor in your car. The engine is too big and you have to use the PCM/wiring from a newer GT/Cobra. You also have to deal with the PATS system and unless you go with a 96-98, a returnless fuel system and the...

    Chip vs ECU flash

A chip can't do anything that a reflash can't, but with a chip you may have problems with diagnostic equipment. A reflash won't interfere with any of that, and unlike a chip, the reflash can never become unseated and blow your PCM. If you have the option, go with a reflash. You can always add a...

    Car won't stay running(theft light)

Disconnecting the battery won't do anything but clear the keep alive memory in the PCM. Check your fuses, if you lose power to the PATS module, it will give you that symptom. Good luck. :nice:

    17x8 - 17x9.5 - 17x11 - need opinion which??

I would go with the 17 X 9.5 because that will allow you to run wider tires if you want to, without being too much. You might be able to get away with 11 inch wide rims on the back, but not the front. If you get the 17 X 8 you might as well keep the stock rims... :nice:

Leaning towards jba's over long tubes

I have JBA headers, and I can't honestly say they made a noticable difference, even with my blower. I do have stock 98 heads, and I'm sure that is the major bottleneck in my engine now... :nice:

How can I find chip in 98 cobra

They plug into the diagnostic connector just like any other chip. You will be able to see it once you drop the PCM. Make sure it is completely seated before you put it back though or you could be in for an unwelcome surprise... :nice:
