    Electric Fan and factory Alternator?

adds hp. well, more accurately it reduces parasitic hp losses. basically it takes hp to turn the fan with the crank (stock setup). it might work for the fan, but once you add a sound system etc you'll need the bigger alternator. save the $ and hassle in the long run and get the 3g...

White stuff on valve covers and othe misc. parts??

yep, it's just aluminum oxide. the auto store should have a dozen different aluminum polishes, just pick the one you like best. as long as it is just from this last winter i'd say it will come off with minimal elbow grease. -steve

    Failed my vehicle inspection....

yeah, it's a bummer when the little repairs get ya. i'd stick to a reputable company like timken for the bearings and just about any industrial grease should suffice for packing them up. although, maybe the bearings will be packed when you get them :shurg:, it's been a while since i've bought...

    Failed my vehicle inspection....

don't cheap out on the bearings IMHO as you probably won't need to do them again for many years. and, no, they're is not a special bearing for lowered vehicles. -steve

    Can I do this?

HairyCanary is right. you can swap the inj/maf in at any time without any problems. afpr's are used to dial in a/f ratios at WOT and nothing else. at part throttle the eec controls the amount of fuel induced through pulse width variations based on 02 sensor readings etc. FWIW people usually...

    Wheel Fitment Guys; HELP!!!

i don't think you'll have any problems up front, but you might need to remove the quads for clearance out back, or a swap to sn95 rear. ttt for confirmation. -steve

POLL: which weight oil do you all use???

when bone stock i used 5w30. then after the rebuild my mechanic said to use 15w40 due to the increased tolerances used, so i did until the break-in period was up. now i run 10w30 100% synthetic. -steve

Is there a catch with 4V motors?

i'll bet $10k doesn't come close to getting that motor in your car *properly*. FWIW if you really want to go with the DOHC swap (which would be really cool) why not go with the 03/04 cobra motor and t56 package they have? -steve

Forged pistons (Speed pro) vs hyper pistons (kenny Black)

that is simply not true. granted, the hypers are much weaker and therefore more likely to break, but if you have a good/safe tune there shouldn't be a problem. -steve

Where do you think my REDLINE is??? HELP!!

FYI - as stackz already touched on: your powerband does not dictate your redline, it only dictates what you should build the engine to handle rpm-wise. the redline is determined by the components used to build the engine in the first place. ie. light weight pistons, 0oz balance, heavy duty...

Pics of Halfmoon cut on 88gt??

pros - they look cool & they are the street legal alternative to dumps if you have a panhard bar that doesn't clear tailpipes. cons - the exhaust makes a 180* turn at the muffler and then another 90* out the side...probably not too good for flow. also they are much louder for the driver...

    Misfire...tried everything

i can't see why. oh well, like i said you can pull them yourself with a paperclip or small jumper wire. the instructions are in the tech section. you can get the codes (meaning) here or in a hayne's manual. just pm me if you run into any problems and i'll try to help. -steve

    Misfire...tried everything

even if there aren't any codes related to this, you would want to fix those problems prior to attacking this as it will possibly make it harder to diagnose. autozone should be able to pull the codes from ANY mustang. if not the tech section can explain how to do it with a paperclip. -steve
