What Spark Plugs should I use?

Hi, posted this on s b f t e c h .com, but no answers: I hope you guys can help me with spark plug selection. I rebuilt my engine, a '69 351W, a year ago, and I've been having trouble with dieseling and overheating and pinging ever since. Not a good combo, so I haven't driven much. Anyway...

    This is Exhausting

I'm sure it's mentioned on some other tread before, but here it is again: Percy's Seal-4-Good aluminum gasket. Reusable and worth every penny. Percy s High Performance 66014 - Percy's Seal-4-Good Header Gaskets - Overview - SummitRacing.com

    Idle Mixture screws

You could play around with them, but make a mark so you can set them back to your original position. To get idle mixture right, a lambda exhaust probe is a great tool.

    My current build...438 clevor/70 fastback.

Awesome build, love it! That engine is gonna tear up the asphalt! :nice: I'm running a KRC/Hydraboost combo; I got an extra -6AN bung welded onto my PS resorvair. That way the "T" is eliminated, as it isn't an optimal solution. Can't see the extra bung on this pic, but you can see the return...

    Metal In Oil Filter

If you got metal in your oil filter, that means that you have metal in your oil pump too, and it needs to be replaced. Worst case is that it jams, and you have no oil pressure, and the engine seize up.

    I'm giving up

It is the same. I have it, I love it and it rocks! You can also swap the flow valve on those to match the stock steeringbox gpm flow.

    rear suspension options

Sorry, no lap times. But they wouldn't mean anything because when I last was at the road track with leafs, I had stock brakes and an open 2.79 8". This time I had 13" Wilwoods in each corner, new suspension and an 3.70 TrueTrac 9". So there are to may changes to say what the rear suspension did...

    rear suspension options

I'm running the TCP rear pushrod suspension on my '69 Fastback. It's a bit harsher ride on the street than the leafs, but nothing brutal. On the road course, it preforms beutifully, and I have no problems hanging with, and overtaking modern cars like the Nissan Skyline and Mazda Rx-7, which are...

Another TCP G Bar exhaust picture

I guess you're right. Bad wording on my part. What is more correct to say is that it won't bring out the full potential of the suspension. A stiffer chassis will let the suspension do it's thing, and not fight the chassis flex. My statement was based on my experience with me installing TCP...

Another TCP G Bar exhaust picture

It's a nice car, but there's no subframe connectors? It won't drive much better than stock suspenison without them.

    Edelbrock vs Holley

Bolt on that Holley and get s jet kit. Play around with the jets, and I think you'll find that your engine comes to life! And Holley carbed engine sounds better too! :D

66 GT Coupe Engine block casting

You will find the VIN on the back of the left cylinder bank. This is where I found it on my 351W, and I'm pretty sure all Windsor series engines have the VIN stamped there. Note that the 02H part of the code is left out.

289 Rebuild, Low Oil Pressure Help!!!!!

Another option - the oil pump pickup gasket might be blocking the oil flow. I did this on my rebuild, had to replace the rod bearings. Got lucky, the crank survived, probably because I have a HV pump, so I got some oil up circulating.

    Problems with VariShocks!

I just discovered that both my front VariShocks dampers (TCP front coil-overs) are busted. I was driving the car hard on some local twisty roads, when I noticed that the front end would wobble at high speeds. At first I thought the sampers were set to soft, because they were only at setting 3 on...

    Flowmaster's tailpipe extensions- Horrible fit??

I've run them tru my TCP rear coilover system with a little tweaking, so I found them pretty good. FordMuscle.com has an article where they are featured too. 67-70 Mustang Flowmaster Exhaust System | FordMuscle.com
