    Brake Problem, Help!

Either you have a leaking caliper piston somewhere introducing air into the system or the master cylinder is gone bad. If a caliper is bad it will generally wear the pad (and rotor) very unevenly.

what should my next mod be????

I'm not getting into pising contest with you. Maybe you should read this... http://forums.modulardepot.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4121&highlight=shift+kits I believe a Ford engineer (Screen name: SCT guy, aka Jerry) knows a little more than you or me on the subject.

what should my next mod be????

A decent tuner (or chip) can bump your idle up a little. Go with a SCT based dyno tune and J-mod the tranny. DO NOT get a shift kit.

    Chip?

Like Cobra said... Justin can get you a quality chip that has ultimate drivability and perforamce.

    Chip?

SCT is the best out there. The minds behind it are truely genius, literally. The have more knowledge and experience than anyone in the tuning field.

    4.2L??

A 4.2 swap is probably the easiest engine swap you can do on a 3.8. The I-6 4.9 in F150's is probably too long to fit in the engine bay. The 4.2 swap has been covered several times at various V6 mustang messageboards. Do a search on "4.2" at V6power.net, 3.8mustang.com, and here to see what...

    4.2L??

And 97+ E150's. It has never been in a Ranger... the 60deg 4.0L is in Rangers. It is a V style 6. It has the same block as the 3.8.

    timing cover, what vehicles???

That was an FMU, but it wasn't hooked up anymore. FMU's are a bandaid. That was acutally a pretty old pic. I totally redid the intake tubing and got rid of the Pro-M and went with a Lightning MAF. My mods were: Powerdyne 11psi SC, 4.2L F150 block, split port heads, custom cam, long tube...

    timing cover, what vehicles???

This is what my old 97 with a split port 4.2 looked like... I occasionally miss it. It had 330rwhp the last time I dynoed it.. Just want to post it so people aren't think I'm just making it up... http://public.fotki.com/svtryan/steve_cs_42l_superc/

    timing cover, what vehicles???

It really is a burr in my saddle when I see people spew out information, without any experience or first hand knowledge, that is totally wrong. There is way too much of it going around on the internet. How miffed would you be if you got a Explorer timing cover to find out it doesn't work...

    timing cover, what vehicles???

Then why did you have to argue for 8 posts that I was wrong? When YOU are the one that was giving incorrect information in the first place. There is only person that looked like a fool in this thread. Maybe take some personal responsibility for your ignorance on the subject. If you...

    timing cover, what vehicles???

You are dense. DENSE. 4.0's are a 60deg engine, 3.8's and 4.2's are 90deg engine. Totally different engine. And... I have a Ranger... with a... guess... what... engine...

    timing cover, what vehicles???

What do I need to do? List the available engines for the Explorer since it was developed? You are wrong. How about you prove you are right... the burden of proof is on you, kid. You are the one making incorrect statements. Just because you "read" it, doesn't make it fact. The fact I...

    timing cover, what vehicles???

You defintely have a problem with being corrected. Not once did you admit you are wrong with the information you are spewing. :notnice:

    timing cover, what vehicles???

    And that is incorrect. Period.
  17. S

    timing cover, what vehicles???

You said one from an Explorer will fit. And the only engines that share a 3.8L timing covers are the 3.8's and 4.2's. So how do justify your comment that an Explorer timing cover will work? There's more than enough info on the swaps at v6power.net
  18. S

    timing cover, what vehicles???

Explorers do not have the 4.2L if that is what you are trying to imply. They do have a 4.0L, but that is entirely different engine family. That cover will not work on a 3.8. I take responsibility to give accurate information... my moto is if I don't know it for sure, don't post it. That...

    timing cover, what vehicles???

A 3.8L in Explorer? There never has been a 3.8 in an Explorer. You better check your source, because it is WRONG.
  20. S

    timing cover, what vehicles???

You'll be hard pressed to find a Explorer with a 3.8... because there is no such thing. :rlaugh: A 96+ 3.8 cover will work. I had a couple extras and threw them out a couple months ago.
