    How do I make my hoodscoop functional??

    The car is a 1970 fastback. not a mach or boss, just a fastback. The engine is out of a '69 mach 1. It's a 351W soon to have new heads and probably a taller intake topped by an edelbrock carb for now. The hood scoop is a mach 1 style.

    Read some of my other threads and you'll see that I'm considering an engine upgrade by way of new aluminum heads and intake. I wonder, if I make my mach 1 style hood scoop funcitonal, will that give me an extra inch or so. If so, how do I do it??!!

    Here are some ideas I'm working on for the motor. How would it be to add a Victor Jr. Intake and heads, a cam with about .540 lift, a BG Demon 830 carb., and a stroke to 393 or 408? I'm not sure the intake will fit tho, It'll be a tight squeeze. Any input on this combo, for starters??

    I just remembered this suggestion from my electronically genius roommate. Since my cigarette lighter is currently broken anyway, how cool would it be to hook up a small nitrous kit to that push button and modify it to say "Light'er Up!" Is that bad@$$, or a little too "honda"?
