    Cold air kits are fine but are mostly for looks. You'll still get hot air from the enginge compartment heating the cold air pipe which defeats the purpose. You'll get the same airflow gains as the cold air kit by just removing your air silencer (mounted in the fender) & replacing your factory...

    Yeah it was about $600. The 8 point roll bar from S&W is $170 for mild steel ($399 for moly), $70 swing out kit ($35 per side) + shipping & welding. The top clears the top hoop with no problem. I ran the cross brace even with the rear seat so I can still use the back seat & the rear...

    8 oint bar with swing out doors from S&W http://swracecars.com. They make a kit for mustang convertibles. I think I payed about $600 for the bars, swing out kit & to have them welded in.

    Oh, you'll also want to put a larger Torque Converter (2400Rpm stall should be good) and a Shift Kit (Transgo is recommended) in it to wake up that auto.

    3.73s should be fine. 85's were carb'd cars. Did the previous ower switch it to an EFI? If so, is it a Speed Density or Mass Air system? You'll want to convert it to Mass Air if it not already before you start modding the motor.
