    Different Gas Station.. More Power?

I once pumped gas at a cheap gas station. Got lots of detonation on part throttle, at no extra charge. Thought I broke the engine for sure. If I had gone to WOT, I probably would have done real damage! That gas station gets business like no other. Me? Never again.

    Slotted/drilled myth?

I heard the exact opposite about professionals. Anyone else? Seems to me that drilling came to lessen the weight of larger rotors, to aid acceleration and braking. Slotting came as another good way to make money, without a better practical reason. Both weaken the rotor. If such rotors...

    Remember the Capri?

I believe the bubble hatch came in '83, which made the Capri look skinny. The years before that actually looked wider than any Mustang of those years (79-82). The fenders and rear quarter panels were bulging out more than on the Mustang. I'm not sure if it had to be an RS, or at least an...

    will this cause HP drop??

The contacts are burned, but that won't cause any HP/torque drop. The timing may change as the contacts wear away. This would change HP, but I would say no more than 10 HP, more like 2-6 HP. The cap does look worse than any I've seen, so it may be ok to change and readjust timing.

    very high miles...5.0 vs 4.6

Old-age engine longevity is mostly determined on how you used and maintained it in its "youth". Expect gas mileage to be dependent on this too. In my opinion the 5.0 is an extreme-fans-only kind of engine. It isn't much in its stock level but the potential is actually there. You didn't...

Painting interior, easy and come out nice??

This is not a tech post but ... With my experience using Duplicolor on the exterior, I would say it is a low-end quality paint. Good quality plastic/vinyl interior paint is going to cost good money too. The last time I bought a plastic exterior paint, it cost $25 a spray can. I bet...

    Help auto trans /tow dolly

Only as a solution to this particular automatic-towing problem ... Could the car have been started, left in neutral (idling), and then towed in any way imaginable?

    Help auto trans /tow dolly

Wow, I had no idea. A car eventually has to be towed, when it breaks down.

    What causes A-Pillar Cracks?...picture

Yup. Also, not to forget good tires. Without a good set, torque alone shouldn't damage the car.

What does removing the silencer do?

Just out of curiosity, I measured the thing. It's about 80mm in diameter, so that would be bigger than most throttle bodies out there. It's probably there to smooth out airflow. Knowing how Ford, they wouldn't waste money for no good reason. I would think, anyway.

    Mustang Owners Worst Dream

Sometimes work, more often where you live. Some shops used to replace tires for free, when punctured (maybe even vandalized). Not sure about today. You might have new tires waiting for you and not know it. Ask the shop where you got the tires.

has any put lx tips on a gt with the gt bumper post pics.

Doesn't look too bad ... I only heard somewhere (or read) that the lower lip on the GT rear bumper causes a lot of drag at top speed, which is why the Cobra and Saleen did what they did with their bumpers.

    Block heater plug, where?

Under the passenger header ... Great and Thanks! Now, to take a look and see if I could put one in myself. If it's buried, it may be tougher than any spark plug.

    Break-in proceedure.

http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm 1. This guy is talking about built/rebuilt engines, not manufactured ones. 2. This guy's concern is not to break the engine on the track. This is a competition-only guy. He's not talking about "break in" at all. What he's talking...

    **** MUSTANG OWNERS

WTF is that supposed to mean? Owners don't give a piss about how the car gets used once they sell it. If they can't stand dealing with people, they should trade it to a dealer instead of selling it themselves. Most people can do this no problem, so if the sale doesn't work, it's because...

    **** MUSTANG OWNERS

I've had bad experience on Autotrader myself. I think it's just kids pretending to be selling cars.
