Trying To Match The Hci-plus-vortech Build Described In This Article As Close As Possible

All depends on whether you want "pretty" or fast... :p I can do a complete package for you but (for whatever it's worth) what you are currently planning is 180 degrees from what I do. :)

Trying To Match The Hci-plus-vortech Build Described In This Article As Close As Possible

Well... it's not 2009 so if you want to run fast.... don't use that old Real Street build as a reference. ;)

    Buying An Ed Curtis Cam

No biggie.... I needed a good laugh to start off 2018 and "Kurt" definitely provided it. Thirty five years in the performance business and looking like it's going even stronger for 2018 so taking business advice from an internet troll like "Kurt" just ain't going to happen. Thanks to everyone...

    Buying An Ed Curtis Cam

Just got this thread sent to me as it appears the liberal snowflakes are whining about how I conduct business... On any give day, I'll send out 50+ Emails responses for people asking about working with them on a project. Starting at about 5am every day and going as far as I can without slowing...

    Need Help Selecting A Cam

I would suggest something that may ruffle some feathers... Find another mechanic..... If you still have a completely stock engine with a few minor bolt-ons and he suggests a camshaft change, he's doing you wrong. First - Check the budget. You need a set of heads and a better intake manifold...

    Heads! What Are These?

Judging by the heat tag epoxied on the core plug, someone has already been in there. I would pass.

1980 Ford Fairmont 302 Hydraulic Conversion

NEVER use a reduced base circle camshaft. A set of Morel link bar lifters, the correct camshaft and push rods is the proper method to update a non-roller block. This system avoids the potential failure of a twenty year old spider and dog bone from a junkyard engine as well as the valvetrain...

Progress Thread 1985 Gt I Finally Have A T Top Car.

Here's the deal.... The better flowing heads (actually the entire induction tract) allows you to utilize a more "mild" camshaft profile to obtain similar or even better results than a mediocre induction system and a larger cam. Think LS7 engines with large cross section heads and mild cam...

Progress Thread 1985 Gt I Finally Have A T Top Car.

Pre-packaged kits are done for convenience, not for making power. They make more money for the seller because it's a no brainer, a Chinese menu. One from column A and one from column B... etc.... Why do they use the same, obsolete Stage 1 camshaft for everything? EFI and carb? Truck or car...

    My 331... she's alive !!!!

Andy, Air Flow Research will probably warranty the studs for you. Call them and talk to Jeremy. Tell him what happened and that you're "one of mine". ;) Judging by the pictures, those studs have a small fillet radius at the jam nut area and those are the problematic ones. Newer studs have a...

    Pushrod Length

What he is stating is the rocker's trunnion has a flat or small counter bore machined into it for the poly-lock to nest in. If the trunnion is "upside down" the flat will be towards the head and the poly-lock will not nest properly. It's really easy to spot if you look at the rockers and spin...

    Need new heads! Any suggestions?

Holley heads have a history of valvetrain related issues that were actually due the typical "bolt on" mentality the marketing people pushed onto the public. Both the 20* and the 17* heads were quite strong power producers, when close attention to valvetrain geometry was performed. I've built...
