    Which intake is better?

Tom, All the Performer EFI intakes come with the rear baffle. (At least the ones I sell!) It's in the bag of goodies along with the other hardware. You just have to install it yourself. They even give you new rivets for it... As for the Typhoon and new Asian Cobra... Buy Edelbrock! Ed

    afr 185s too much for a 302??

For all those touting a set of AFR 185 heads as being the best choice... Unless you have notched the pistons or replaced them with aftermarket, you will not be able to see the benefit of the using right camshaft to maximize the usage of that head. Can't just bolt in a TFS St1 grind and call...

    Cam choice for BBF???

There is too much still in flux with your combo to say "which" cam profile would work best.... Which heads? RPM Range? Flat tappet or roller? Carbed or EFI? Vehicle dynamics? If you check this out, it may help you figure out what you need to get a camshaft designed...

Valve spacing on brodix track 1 225's?

The Brodix has the intake valve moved .119" from stock and the exhaust moved .053" from stock. Same 20* valve angle though... The only "big runner" head with stock valve spacing is AFR 225 heads... Ed

    What Heads for 600+ RWHP?

We've made over 500 RWHP with the AFR 225 heads on an EFI 408 inch engine and a custom hydraulic roller camshaft. Nothing special required to do it either. Just the right parts and common sense... Add in your 200 shot and you're way above your goals without resorting to some NASCAR take offs...

Does anyone have the phone# for FTI (Ed Curtis)

No phone number is listed so I can actually get some work done around here. Emails will be answered in the order they are received. It's about the only fair way to take care of things when nearly 100 Emails show up every day. Ed

Anyone running AFR 165's and the RPM2 intake?

I am porting a Perf RPM2 as we speak and its port opening is nearly .090 taller and .060 wider than the AFR 165 intake port. The corner radii are .15 on the intake and .21 on the heads. Not a good match at all. You've definitely got me confused as to why yours line up! As for the...

Anyone running AFR 165's and the RPM2 intake?

I think your buddy better recheck. Port alignment is not even close. The RPM2 is "much" larger in size. If you want to use that intake, be prepared to modify the heads... Oh and if someone says to "gasket match them"... I think I'll just have them shot! :rlaugh: Blower combo? Go to the...

Question for AFR head users, or any 331/347 users

To add to Rick's notes... The standard AFR valve springs are really more for a stock OEM hydraulic roller cams or a decent flat tappet camshaft. Also, the "as provided" AFR valves ARE NOT trash if used in the criteria they were designed for. Just like anything in performance, you don't...

    The 306 Dyno Challenge.

450 RWHP is impossible! I'm no "punk kid" and could buy and sell you and your "engine" without batting an eye, so don't get "attitude" with me buddy. If you can't handle the FACTS I posted then keep on dumping your "cash" into a loosing combination. It is "not" going to make the HP levels...

    306+what= 325 streetable horsepower

Tom, FWIW... I tend to want customers to run X pipes in most dual purpose applications. Just seems to make more average HP/Tq than the H in my dumbass testing. Why do a lot of people racing use H pipes? Because they have them. There is a lot of "Monkey see, monkey do" in racing too...

    The 306 Dyno Challenge.

Hmmmm..... This is worth watching... 450 RWHP? Giving a factor of .17 for the dyno... 542 FWHP give or take a few... 542 FWHP / 306 = 1.771 HP per cube!!! The average NMRA Pure Street 311 is making 425 RWHP on VP C10.. 425 RWHP ~ 512 FWHP 512 / 311 = 1.646 HP per cube...

    306+what= 325 streetable horsepower

One example of over 400 RWHP with a 306 and a "some what" streetable 236*-240* cam is in Joe Correia's car. And power was made at under 7000 RPM... ;) Recently another guy with a 308 did 417 RWHP with AFR 185. Holley intake and a 238*-244* camshaft... Can be done without that big of a...

    306+what= 325 streetable horsepower

As I tell everyone that asks... COMBINATION dictates what to use... Do you use a AFR 185 on a 3900# street car with 3.55 gears? Hell no! How about a AFR 165 on a 2800# high RPM race car? Again, no! Balance of parts coupled with the customer's goals... Here's a few benchmarks that no...
