    3G alt conversion plug

Gotcha. So unless I want to strip out the black/orange wire(s) I have to leave them hooked up to the pos. side of the solenoid because the stator has to stay hooked up to the solenoid? Hmm...time to get the electrical tape out

    3G alt conversion plug

I thought the black/orange wires had to be attached to the alt as well?(as well as the stator wire) If not, then most write-ups on the 3G install are wrong. So the 4AWG cable replaces the 2 black/orange wires?

    3G alt conversion plug

I did what the diagram in the 2nd post by JerryD says and got the power wire upgrade kit from 50resto with the fuse etc. I connected it from the pos. solenoid and ran that to the alt. That's it right?

    3G alt conversion plug

Thanks guys. Well I guess I wasted the money on the conversion plug. I just cut and crimped the already existing wires. Gotta love the 3G alts...14V at idle, baby! :-) Can't wait til I get my red top next week.

    3G alt conversion plug

I see what you're saying...but what's the conversion plug even for? According to that diagram, it's just modifying the stock wires.

    3G alt conversion plug

I've got a question guys, I got the PA perf. alt with power wire upgrade and the conversion plug for my 91 LX. Something is confusing me.....where does the plug end of the conv. plug go?(LOL) It isn't the regulator plug because the stock reg. plug will fit into the alt. But the 3 wires on...

    t-stat question

Yup sure will. I'll jack up the front driver side and leave the rad cap off. Burping should take about 5-10 mins right?

Thanks bro. I'll let it run a little longer tomorrow. I'll just have to watch the temp very carefuly because I don't have a fan installed. (If only I had that dang bosch relay :-( Thanks again Patrick

    t-stat question

I need to up this thread of mine again. Just got finished with my t-stat, water pump install. You guys say it takes a couple seconds for water to start spewing if the gasket or t-stat is not in there right? I started it up and drove down the block. It never got up to operating temp. Up...

question about 4-disc 5 lug brake swap

Actually what's really confusing me is on Matt's brake site it says I need to use sn95 calipers from 94-98 v6/gt/cobra for the rear when I use 94-95 axles. What about calipers from 99-2004? For the rotors it just says 11.65" cobra rotors. So why can't I just use any 94-2004 cobra calipers?

question about 4-disc 5 lug brake swap

I'm going to go for the 4 disc 5 lug swap on my 91 lx. I'm going with '98 v6 spindles and hubs ( I know...8mm wider track on each side) in the front and sn95 axles in the rear. My question is I'm afraid to get the axles and they might break on me if they have a lot of miles on them. Is this...

    Starting issues...

I've been having problems with starting my car. It's always started on me except for once. But it starts VERY weak. It cranks over very slowly and takes about 3-4 secs before she finally starts. The once time when it didn't start was after a 2 hour drive. She cranked over even slower and...

    Finally got my taurus fan...

Where did you get the 170 amp alt? I've been looking at the ones at 50resto and it goes from 130 to 200. The 200 amp costs about $80 more....which to me isn't worth it.

    Finally got my taurus fan...

I finally got it in the mail today. I have a few questions about the wiring: There are 3 wires coming out....black/red, black/yellow and black. I'm guessing black is ground. What I'm wanting to do is just use a manual switch right next to the driver. No fancy thermometer since I won't...

To trickflow street heat kit owners...

Yup..no cats. Once I finish installing the water pump and t-stat, I'll do the oil change and monitor the oil level for a while. Hmm..I'm getting antsy about this kit....311 rwhp is no slouch! :hail2: Heck I'm already happy with the stock power....after switching from a 4-banger.(which...

To trickflow street heat kit owners...

No haven't noticed it smoking. My friend said it smelled wierd whenever I got on it, but I told him that's just rubber. :rlaugh: Haven't really kept up with the oil since I've only had it 2 months and I'm not driving it right now. I'll be doing an oil change next week so I'll know for...

To trickflow street heat kit owners...

Hmm..that's what's very tempting...just buying the kit and slapping it on. I am thinking about putting a vortech on it after the kit as well. Not much boost...5-6 psi. That's why I was thinking maybe doing a "minor" rebuild. I must add...I won't be driving this car very often. I have...
