Need pics of 1999 Stock H-pipe

Yeah, I think the stock H pipe in 99 did have 6 cats on it.

    fuel filter general maintence

It's getting about time for me to change my filter also. This may be a stupid question, but are there any instructions on this floating around anywhere?

    Please help troubleshoot my problem.

Well, that's encouraging. I'm not very familiar with the Xcal II, so I guess I'll probably start looking into it. Hopefully it can clear up my problem too. Where did you get it from?

    Please help troubleshoot my problem.

Yeah, same here. If I get on the car hard, it acts normal. It only does it at low RPM's when I'm barely on the gas. Maybe it does have something to do with the torque converter. I've heard that suggested several times before.

    Please help troubleshoot my problem.

Please let me know how this issue turns out. Most of the time to me, it feels like a problem in the drivetrain and not the engine though. Oh well, I hope we can figure this one out because it gets really annoying sometimes, especially when somebody is in the car with me.

    Please help troubleshoot my problem.

Hmmm...guess it's getting about time to do that then. However, if it turns out to be the MAF, I agree with your earlier post that paper filters > K&N.

    Please help troubleshoot my problem.

This sounds like the exact same problem I am having. Let me know if cleaning the MAF fixes the problem. I don't think it would be my fuel filter because the car only has 26k miles. Please keep me updated!

4.10 and Auto Tranny Shift Smoothness = other GT owners' opinions!

This sounds like the exact same thing my car does, although I have the stock 3.27's. I posted a thread about it a week or so ago, and the main thing everyone said was that it was the stock torque converter. Just like yours though, if I'm on the gas hard, it shifts fine.

Strange 3rd gear in '03 auto?

Yeah, I've tried turning off the O/D too, but mine still does it although not as much. Hopefully somebody will have some answers for us.

Strange 3rd gear in '03 auto?

I have a 2003 Mustang GT auto. When the car is in 3rd gear at low RPM’s (around 35-40 mph) and you start to slightly accelerate, it is a bit jumpy and sort of bucking. It’s almost like it’s trying to shift into OD, but can’t make up its mind whether or not to shift. Once it shifts into OD...

    Hot starting issues

I've had my car for almost a year and put about 10k miles on it. It had 16k on it when I bought it, and it's done this pretty much ever since I got it. It is pretty occassional though, maybe once every week or two.

    Hot starting issues

Add another '03 to the list. Mine does this same exact thing. I started doing the trick of turning on the ignition for a few seconds before cranking it a few months ago, and it seems to have helped some but it still does it occassionally.

ANy idea how to cover up/get rid of the license plate wholes in the front?

The front plate is not required in Alabama. Heck, half the time cops don't even pull people over for not having any plate at all!

Synthetic oil a "waste" of money?

I've actually seen proof that synthetic oil does make a difference. I've seen engines torn apart that ran only synthetic oil and ones that ran regular oil. The ones that ran synthetic oil still looked brand new. There weren't even really any burn spots on the heads or anything. The ones that...

Got my H-pipe installed last night!!!!

Where did you get it? That's a good price, I might have to pick one up for $120.

    Mufflers

I've got MAC Flowpaths welded in. They sound great IMO, even with the stock H.

Problems With Gas Gage / Hesitation on start

Yep, my car also does this on occasion. I've heard of numerous people having this hard start problem. I'm still not sure what causes it. I also do the trick of turning the ignition on for 2-3 seconds before cranking. This seems to at least reduce the occurence of the problem.

    Direct Replacement H-Pipe?

That looks like the older one that is only in 2 pieces. The newer ones are in 3 pieces and are coated with the black HTS coating. I've heard that some people have a problem with leaks on those older ones.

    Direct Replacement H-Pipe?

Yeah, probably so. Just get some MIL Eliminators though and that will take care of that problem. You can get cheap ones for like $10 that splice into the rear o2's or you can get the plug n play type, but they're around $40-$50.

    Welding In Flowmaster 40 Series

I don't know of any off-road H pipes that are 2.25". The 2.5" H pipes will bolt right up to your stock cat-back and stock headers though.
