Need help building a custom sub box for gt hatchback....

I have a custom box with one 10" JL and amp (Mounted on the box) using quick disconnects for when I go to the track. The whole thing weighs about 60lbs. It fits up against the back of the back fold-down seats just under the retractable cover. ( I pull the cover down and it is invisable) It sits...

I was originally going to do what you suggested but heard from a couple people that guys were throwing belts every now and then. I payed up for the pulley.

    Should i go with 4:10's????

3.73's if you plan on taking it on the highway for any length of time. I run 3.55's with a 5-speed and wouldn't want to rev the engine any higher when I am at cruising speed. As it is, I'm at 4800 RPM at the end of the 1/4 mile. When I add the Nitrous I'll be close to running out of gear.

If you can get a complete rear end with an Auburn and 3.73's jump on it. Like NOW! A new 8.8 from Ford racing with 3.73's, stock dif and 28 spline axles is anywhere from $800 to $1000. Also $75 for the dif isn't bad either. I think I paid $250 for a new one last year. Throw a set of Drag...

i've had 3.55s under the bed for around 1 yr

Stick with the 3.55's. If you have 2.73's now you'll notice a big difference while also keeping the rev's resonable on the highway.

    Speedometer cable making noise

Lubing it is just a band-aid. Get a new one and be done with it.

    7.5 and 8.8?

Use a tape measure. I don't remember the exact dimentions but the width of the two covers will be about the same. The 8.8 will be taller by about an inch due to the bigger ring gear.

    changing gears - 3.27 or 3.55?

3:55's. If I'm at the track I do wish I had gone with the 3:73 gear. Then I take it on the highway and I'm glad I'm running 3.55's. Cruises at 70 nicely, only 2200 RPM's. PS, Don't forget to change your speedometer driven gear. I needed the "red" 21 tooth gear. Depending on your tire size, you...

Do all stock 5.0s sit like this?

Then I assume the pro-kit is a stock height replacement. The FMS springs I have actually raised my car. (I had saggy butt also) I have old pictures of my car when it was new and have taken current photos and there is little if no difference at all.

Do all stock 5.0s sit like this?

I would suggest the Ford Racing springs over the Eibach if you want a look that is closer to stock. the Eibach will lower a stock Mustang up to 1 1/2". The Ford springs will lower the front 7/8" and the rear 1/2". Ford suggests not to lower a Fox body car by more then 1". In your case the new...

    what struts?

I had the KYB non-adjustable shocks and struts on last summer. Couldn't wait to pull that junk off. Put on a set of Koni's and what a difference. PS. Anybody want a set of KYB's with 4000 miles on them, cheap?

    What happened now!?

You don't have to buy a bypass hose. First drain your radiator then just disconnect the inlet hose from the firewall and loop it around to the outlet side where it connects to the motor. Basically all you do is run the hose from the water pump to the intake. This bypasses the heater core.

    Replacing water pump...

Very basic. Don't pay someone to change a water pump. Save the $100+ labor and do it yourself.

Antifreeze leak after lower/upper intake install

Bingo. Thats usually the problem. Gotta bring the RTV up from the block and apply a thin coat around the water ports. Both sides of the gasket. The aluminum and iron will contract differently and open up a small leak where they join. Also, something that I found keeps things dry is to set the...

    Tko 500

Don't mean to change the subject, but I noticed none of you guys are running Centerforce clutches. Is there issues I haven't heard of? I will be looking for a new clutch soon and I had always figured I would get a Centerforce dual friction.

It is gonn be one of those days guess what I just did to my bumper

What a relief. Now I know I'm not the only one that has skidded a ramp across the floor. I've got a better opps. Last week I was loading my road bike into the back of my mint F-350 and didn't lift the bike low enough on the frame. When I went to flip it into the back the pedal and front sprocket...

    Need help with carb choice

The CFM calculator will tell you to go with a 600, but a 650 is definatly the way to go. Go to any NMRA event and with the excetion of the big inch small block guys they are all running 650's.
