    DMAN - Make sure you do a follow up on this. I'm thinking of putting in new mounts myself and would like to know how it went. PS, I have always heard of guys using the pan, but I have to admit I've never felt comfortable with it. Just try to distribute the weight as much as possible.

    Just one question. Are you sure your advanced timing is 13, or is that base, because if your advance is 13 you just found your problem. Try setting your base at 15 or 16 and your advanced should be around 36/37.

    Timing markings on balancer

    I don't know anyone that pays to much attention to all the marks on the harmonic balancer. Just mark the 0 slash with white paint and set your timing with a light that has a dial. Remember, clockwise to advance, counter clockwise to retard.

    Put a Flowkooler in my 85 and the original heater core lasted about one hour. Replaced it with a stock Ford replacement and haven't had any problems ..... yet.

    A lot of it depends on what kind of driving you do. There are times when I'm at the track I wish I was running the 3.73's. However, a couple runs down the highway, and seeing that I'm getting 22 MPG and I'm glad I went with the 3.55's.

    Don't know what the power valve is. I assumed its standard Holley valve for a 650. The carb is a QuickFuel ProVac. Meaning, it a vaccum secondary carb. My MPH did change.     Axle Question

    I run 28 spline Superior axles, but my RWHP is only 300. If I were up around 400 at the rear wheels I would definitely switch to a 31 spline set up. Better save then sorry.

    changing gears - 3.27 or 3.55?

    Tearing the tranny apart to change a speedo gear?????? All you do is pull the speedometer cable out of the trans and replace it with a new $5 plastic gear. Takes longer to jack the car up and put it on jack stands then it does to replace the gear.

    I run low 13's @ 104 with 3.55's and get 22 MPG. I say go with the 3.55's You'll notice a big difference from the 2.73's.
