    Installing Rear Control Arms

Yeah, it is all easy except for the bushing on the differential housing. It will take most of your time to do this part. I just dropped the whole thing since I did both sets and installed gears at the same time. I dropped the whole thing in about an hour using my custom made axle support...

Anyone with 3.73's wish they had gone w/ 4.10's ?

The only real con of 4.10s is on the highway, that is if you like to drive fast. 4.10@80mph = 2876 rpm 3.73@80mph = 2617 rpm 4.10@75mph = 2697 rpm 3.73@75mph = 2453 rpm In my car the 4.10s at 80 mph seem to make a lot of noise, but just slowing down to 75 mph seems to make a big...

Try Discount Tires. I had a small shop locally that was affilated with them. The gave me a good deal. I ordered the tires through the local guy, and in the end it came out to about the same price as if I would of got them from tire rack and paid to have them installed.

    285/40/17

A 285/35R18 has a smaller and stiffer side wall then a 285/40R17. When I had my tires installed I asked the guys if they had any problems and the said it was easy. I asked because I had some 255/45R17 put on the stock rims a long time ago and the guys had to struggle a little to get them on...

    low trap speeds?

What rpm do you shift at? You should be shifting at redline in all gears. There is no way that shifting into 4th should improve your times, unless your car is a freak.

102 trap w/ only exhaust. Magnaflow exhaust??

You have 3 important things in your favor to getting such a good trap speed. 1) It is Feb and the air is very good. I would bet that the DA for that day was around sea level. I used to go to the Atlanta Dragway when I was at Clemson Univ. I never trapped better then about 100.xx mph with...

    TKO Question

I was just reading on the ddp website from above and noticed this. "For 2004, Tremec is producing a new TKO line with 4615 steel gears (wide and close ratio), cast iron 3 pad shift forks, dual speedo pickups (mechanical and electrical) and high performance shifters. Tremec claims that...

    Gears - Breakin time?

I really would not worry about it. I have never heard of anyone having problems with their gears due to poor break in. The 3 test drive thing is in theory supposed to help heat treat the gears for better strength, but the gears are so well made these days that it is nothing to worry about...

    Gears - Breakin time?

I read several places to take the car on 3 easy around town 10 mile trips with a cool down inbetween each. Then let the car set over night before driving again. See my post a few days ago on installing your own gears. I attached a zip file with several docs in it that have variations on the...

    Attention: Ford C spring users

I set the camber to about -1.5 degrees. I had problems with the stock setting of around -0.8 causing excessive wear on the outside edge of the tire when it was stock.

Need a new clutch, any recommendations?

To be honest I don't know, maybe 5-8k. I put it about 1 year ago. I have a lot of track time, stop and go driving, and highway driving on it. It has not flinched yet, and is easy on the leg unlike other clutches. I would give my SPEC stage 2 clutch a big :nice:

    Mac Prochamber

I give my PC a 7 on a 10 scale for overall satisfaction. I really do not like the quality of its construction. It is aluminized steel, and the welds start to rust very quickly. It looks like a$$ next to my magnaflow catback. I don't know if they fixed the flange problems where it connects to...

    Gears going in!

I got the Superior Axle and Gear master overhaul kit from Summit for $78. It has everything but axle bearings, but those came with my new Superior axles. It is a pretty good kit. It even came with loctite and gear marking compound. It is not listed in the catolog, but if you look up the part...

    C-Clip Elims

You do not need really need them with rear disk brakes. The caliper will hold the axle in if it were to break. That is why they only had it for drum brakes.
