whats a cheap way to get more HP?

Gears will cost you more thatn $500. The gears them selves are cheap ($150), but between the install cost ($300) and the speedo compensator ($100) it is going to be expensive. Not to mention, now you have to deal with the fact that your tires will not be able to give you enough traction. The...

I thought the track was supposed to hook harder than the street!

A well prepared track will hook well even with street tires. The problem is that test and tune nights, or other such free for alls, rarely ever have good prep. The best I 60' I cut on street tires was around a 1.9x (normally 2.1's). That was just a lucky day interms of track prep. You will...

    best plenum?

I think what he meant was that the power difference is minimal. If you look at those graphs we are only talking about 1-2 hp. That is, practiaclly speaking, not even noticable, especially if you consdier the amount of money you are spending. I think everyone agrees that the Accufab setup...

    Ford Racing C Springs?

I have been running C springs for 4 or so years now. I still have the stock shocks and no C/C plates. You will be fine with out them. The C springs are definetly stiffer than stock. They are linear and about 600 lbs/in in the front. That is up for the stockers being around 450 in/lbs...

    best plenum?

I am in favor of porting the stock one. Check my earlier post on this: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=544606 I did not post an after pics, but my car definetly runs better. The throttle response is much better, and it definetly has a little more power. It is a great mod to do...

Suspension wizards... Adj upper control arms good for what?

Yeah, unless you are serious about racing then you do not need them. I have a set from Steeda, and I set them to the stock length and have not touched them since. I got them for adjusting my pinon angle for drag racing. The only problem is that I have not had the money or time to race. Save...

Intake Elbow - Found the restriction?

Me guess is that the bump is supposed to help mix the fresh air with the exhaust gases. That little bump looks just like the bump in the cylinder heads (tumble port). The thing that I was most amazed about was simply how bad a job that they did designing the elbow. They put all the time and...

Intake Elbow - Found the restriction?

Thanks. My only worry is that there is not enough material on the top and bottom to shape the the round inlet in to the rectangular one before it makes the turn. Maybe I will have to try widing it instead, but most likely it will have to be a little of both.

Intake Elbow - Found the restriction?

With all of the talk about modifying or change the upper intake elbow on the 2V, I become very curious as to what the big deal was about. I took the elbow off of my car today to give it a thorough inspection to see if I could see any problems. Well, I noticed right away that there was a...

    3.700" Big Bore engine...Have ??'s

A lot of guys also do not like running a stroker because a longer stroke increases the acceleration and velocity of the piston rod for a given rpm. This is good for lower rpm power, but is not desirable for higher rpm applications, which most racers are looking for. A big bore keeps the same...

    3.700" Big Bore engine...Have ??'s

The benifit of the big bore (over the stroker) is that it helps unshroud the valves some. This promotes better airflow in addition to the increased displacment. Go over to the modular depot forums, you will get a lot better response there (http://forums.modulardepot.com/).

315 fitment and the quad shocks

Most people simply flip the quad shocks so that the shaft side (which is smaller in diameter) is where the tire would rub. Take your wheels off and have a look. It will make sense. It is very easy to do. If you have aftermarket lower control arms, then you can just get rid of the quad...

    T-loc Pros Come In

If you are doing the one-wheel-peel than you need new clutches in the diff. It is a very easy install. You can also repack the new clutches in a different order than stock to increase friction for better locking of the rear axles. Do a search on this forum and corral.net for more info.

Accufab Plenum + C&L TrueFlow Inlet Pipes???

I was thinking about getting an Accufab plenum, and was wondering if the C&L inlet pipe was worth anything. The C&L piece looks very nice, and has a nitrous boss if I want to run nitrous. http://www.cnlperformance.com/inlet.html Does anyone have any experience with the C&L piece? Any...
