    any ideas what that may be? it could be simply that I am not used to the driving dynamics of the car yet. my last mustang was a stock auto 95gt. she tore through first lost a little in second and went steady down hill from there. this one is the exact opposite. at least thats what it 'feels'...

    Just bought an 03 gt. Looks like the previous owner cut out the back cats. She seems to lag through first then really kick it in second. A friend told me the the loss of rear cats is what is causing the sluggish #1 gear performance. Any truth to this?

    Some pinging is normal? Who told you that? Do try another tank but I would also go ahead and take her in anyway. As detuned and neutral as this engine is it really shouldnt ping ever. That coupled with the fact that at least one 3v has had to be replaced due to misfireing. Be safe, take her in.
