    i used to have a gear drive set. forgot the maker on it. it was so loud i could not hear my exhaust at low rpm's. i know if the gears come out of sync, the noise gets worse (or something like that). i could not stand the gear drive noise. i was too lazy to put a chain back on

    i know when i had a mazda RX8, i had that all over my dipstick. the RX8 guys told me it was from not warming the engine up enough in the mornings (due to it being a rotary). i dont know if that is the case with your engine or not. what type of oil are you using

    depends on if you supercharge or not. 3.73 gears are good for a supercharger and 4.10's are good for N/A path.
