alignment needed for bigger/wider wheels & tires???

That's news to me. Why would you want more toe in? Wouldn't that just wear out the tires faster?

alignment needed for bigger/wider wheels & tires???

No. You do not need to change the alignment when swapping wheels and tires. Especially if you just had it done 1.5 years ago. Now, it might be a good idea to protect your investment (your tires) but there is no reason why you would need to re-align. Alignment problems are typically...

    Power Ram Adjustment

No adjustment needed. Just tighten them down. It's a fairly common problem along with the bracket wanting to seperate from the frame.

    RTV needed?

If it's a chrome housing, throw it out and buy a replacement with an O-ring seal. Even if you get it sealed it will continue to haunt you later.

Anyone use a Weiand 71 series blower?

WOW! Everything you've posted is completely wrong except your opinion on looks. Centrificals and Blowers? What are you talking about? "Blower" is slang for supercharger, "Centrifical" is a type of supercharger. A Roots style supercharger is only good at lower boost levels. They...

Drive shaft weld and balance costs

I paid about the same for the same thing (Shorten and balance an Aerostar aluminum drive shaft).

Anyone use a Weiand 71 series blower?

I'm curious as to why people think that a blower will make it "noisy"? Is it just because of the pasasitic loss caused by the blower? IE: A blown motor putting 400HP to the wheels is actually making 500HP but loses 100HP because of the energy required to spin the blower?

Anyone use a Weiand 71 series blower?

I think the only reason you'd run one of those blowers nowadays is if you got a really good deal on it, or you were going for that particular look. There are better options from a performance standpoint.

    1970 Mach1 Ignition Problems?

Like others have mentioned, I also think there is an electrical problem. Sounds like the coil/dist is getting power only when the key is in the Run position and not when in the start position. This is easy to test. Disconnect the starter power cable. Have a helper hold the key in the...

Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

I guess I'm the only one who reccomends you go to EFI. I used a carb for 8+ years before going to EFI. I will never go back to a carb. BUT! To be honest, carb vs EFI is a very personal choice and depends on knowledge, skill, goals, and the vehicle/engine. I'd have a lot harder of a time...

    CJ Pony - Never Again

CJ is pretty decent. I've ordered from them about 5 or 6 times now, some big orders. My complaints: - Almost every order, at least 1 item is backordered. They don't tell you when ordering. Sometimes it takes months to get the item in. - I've noticed that their shipping charges seem a...

What is this? Vacuum box on 70 mach 1

Wow. Not sure WTF that is. It's defiantely not a part that I have in my Grande. Do you have any vacum operated accessories? Only things I can think of are AC or Cruise Control.

Need some ideas on headlight bucket repair

Drill and tap, then use a bolt to hold the spring? With potmetal you don't have a lot of repair options. Especially if you are trying to save the paint.

Will 18x8 rims fit in the front on 1964 1/2 ford mustang

To answer the original question: 18x8's will fit with the correct backspacing. It's the rubber that will cause problems. Having said that, general opinion is that when 17" or 18" wheels, you need to lower the car a little to make it look right. Lowering it makes clearance even more...

    Shift Kit for FMX

I had a shift kit in mine. Seemed to do wonderfully. Nice firm shifts. My FMX didn't have the kickdown linkage installed which sucked. I believe there is some adjustment on the vacum diaphram that may help with your "waits too long to shift" problem. Or could be that it needs a new...

    Stangersite.com rebuilding turnaround time question

Ouch. Looks like the turn around time has gotten worse instead of better. Too bad as like you said, he's a nice guy and does excellent work. Just wish he would be honest when you ask how long it will take.

Engine running too cool after installing fat shroud

The only cause of an engine running too cold is a bad thermostat. You don't "compensate" with a thermostat except the other way around... when the engine tends to run too hot. That's about 4 of us now. Instead of trying to tell us we're wrong, please think about why we may be right.

T5 Rebuild and Bad Shoe Productions

I have that DVD (and rebuilding the Ford 9" DVD as he had a buy one get one free special going). Unfortunately, I haven't watched either of them yet. The T5 video is over 3hrs long, and came with a .PDF document full of specs, torque numbers, etc.
