    Twin Turbo 289!?!

1st I've ever heard of twins spooling sooner than a large single. Size them right and there won't be a difference in spool time. Single vs Twins mostly comes down to space (it's easier to fit 2 smaller turbos and 2 smaller downpipes) and cost. With modern camshaft technology and aluminum...

    Too hot of a thermostat?

160* is too cold IMO. You are going to see increased engine wear this low. Definately use a thinner oil if you are going to use a 160* T-stat. Personally, I think 180*-190* is where you want to be. Most newer vehicles are designed to run with the temp in the 210* area.

    Mustang Sagging Driverside Rear

You will have to experiment. It's hard to tell how much the springs have actually sagged. Also, keep in mind that new springs will sag a little during the 1st couple of months of driving. So I wouldn't mess with the ride height until you've had a chance to put a few hunded miles on them. I...

    Stangersite.com rebuilding turnaround time question

Mine was about a 6 week turn around time (from the time he received till the time he shipped). I was a little upset as I had just emailed before sending the parts and asked how long it would take him and he told me "2 weeks". The said it was due to the ice storm and some family issues. I...

    What ignition/distributor do you run?

I'm using Ford's EDIS module, OEM coilpacks, and no distributor. More accurate, multiple sparks (under 1800RPM) and no problems lighting up a .042" gap with 6-7PSI of boost. Probably more than you are wanting to get into tho.

70NE's custom EFI conversion writeup - Part 5

The engine combo has changed significantly since I did this writeup. I never did dyno it, but I would guess 275-300 RWHP from the combo as it was when I did this writeup. I have since installed a turbo. Part of why I did the EFI conversion was to get ready for a power adder. It worked...

    Fuel Injection vs Carba

EFI certainly has it's advantages. Yes, with a carb you CAN get NEAR the power and efficiency of EFI but you will not surpass it. AND, it takes someone who is very good at carb tuning just to get you that far. From someone who used to run a carb and has now converted to EFI: I will...

    13" cobra brake problems

Good point. The early SN95 Cobra brakes used a 38mm piston. The 40mm piston is much more common. If you are running the calipers with 38mm pistons it will require more pedal effort than the calipers with 40mm pistons.

    MegaSquirt and EDIS-8

To mount the wheel, I took the balancer into a shop and had them machine it down the thickness of my wheel. I mounted the wheel by sandwiching it between the ballancer and the crank pully. I modified a stock TFI distributor to drive the oil pump only. Basically I cut the top off the...

    MegaSquirt and EDIS-8

I've done both and I am very happy with the results. Works great! Runs way better than it did with a distributor.

65 coupe pulls to left when braking

Are you sure it's not the brakes? If you've got a caliper that's seized or something similar it will make the car pull to one side.

    13" cobra brake problems

I think you want something with a smaller bore. Smaller bore = more pedal travel but less effort.

    Help with welder wiring!

I think that's probably the wrong cord/plug, but if you have the matching outlet in your garage then go with it. Otherwise, you'll probably want to use something with a "welder" style plug. The wiring is easy, usually it's just a matter of matching the colors. The Green wire is ground, and...

SN95 caliper to Granada spindle bracket

Look for a kit designed to convert a stock disk brake classic stang to sn95 cobra brakes. Every kit I've seen says "Also works with Granada spindles except you have to drill out a mounting hole to a larger size" which is really easy to do.

Well now thats not supposed to be in there.....liquid inside coil? LOL

My old Accel Supercoil used to leak oil a little when temps got really hot. I think it was from being bolted to the hot engine. Most canister style ignition coils are oil filled.

    Master Brake Cylinder Bore Size

Can anyone tell me what the bore size is for the OEM master brake cylinder that was used in a 1970 Mustang with Power front disk brakes? Not sure if they are different for power vs manual but I suspect not. Thanks!

Car dies after 25-30 minutes of use. Help needed.

A one way valve in the cap I believe. Drain the tank to 1/4 and go for a drive without the cap on... easiest way to test. I would also suspect the ignition system. Could be that the PO bypassed the ballast resistor/wire. Might want to try a different ignition coil.

    Axel splines.

Like mentioned, it's most likely a 28 spline. Pulling the axle out is a 1hr job at best. Your local ford dealership should be able to decode the axle tag if it's still in place.

    Blasting

$750 for primer does seem steep. I would certainly attempt to do it myself. Avoid all moisture. rain drops = rust spots in only a couple of hours. Try to get it in primer ASAP.
