Engine (EGR Deleted) Solution the hotter combustion chambers?

I made my own block off plate and ran an EGR eliminator plug too. This in my '54 Ford with '93 5.0 conversion. A couple thousand miles on it with no problems to date. However, it doesn't see any track time.........just a cruiser...

    5.0 ignition wiring help

Well......the one wire I see that's cut is red with a yellow tracer, which is probably some sort of power wire. You need one of these.............. https://www.ebay.com/itm/361977375588?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5335821607&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1

Engine Explorer - Lower intake internal cleaning

If you don't want to spend a small fortune on Chem-Dip and you don't have a parts washer, get a pan big enough to set the manifold in, buy an engine cleaning brush kit from HF and a gallon of Purple Power from HD. You should be able to scrub underneath the baffle and reach up inside each runner...

Progress Thread 93 LX father son project

2000xp8 is correct. You'll need the wiring and vacuum diagrams for each year car. Now, the EVTM's are great but there's nothing better than the factory Ford wiring diagrams. They're large and foldout. These are what the factory Ford techs used in dealerships back in the day. You can...

    1984 2.3 turbo

What's the intercooler from? Aftermarket or? Be aware an I/C is more effective when your power level is raised by other means. Typically, headwork, bigger turbo, full 3" exhaust, etc. Give us a little more info on what you have.

Electrical Trying to find wiring diagram

The EVTM's are good but factory wiring diagrams are the pinnacle of wiring diagrams. They're what the factory Ford technicians used in the dealerships, back in the day. They cover every wire, connector, color and gauge of wire in the car from source to component and are extremely simple to...

    93 vert project

You sir.......have some work in front of you! Patience and perseverance and you can accomplish anything! I just replaced the entire rotted floor assembly in my '54 Ford project so, it can be done. And, it looks like you have the same Calypso green color as my former '93 vert! The wife and I...

Electrical Going crazy trying to identify burnt and disconnected wires 83 GLX5.0

This is the factory wiring diagram used by Ford techs at the dealerships back in the day. This is the real deal. It lists the color and gauge of every wire in the car, bumper to bumper. It also shows the shapes of all electrical connectors in the car. I've used these diagrams on many of the...

    Engine Which cooling part first?

Firstly, I would install a quality aftermarket water temp gauge so you have a more accurate idea of your temps. Also, if you're contemplating a new rad/fan combo, there's plenty of room to move the combo forward (especially since you dumped your A/C condenser). On my '89 I used a Volvo rad...

    93 LX 2.3 Trouble codes 53, 85, 21 help

10 pin salt & pepper shakers are for the 5.0's. Seems like you've done some exhaustive testing on the components. In my limited experience, after component testing, the two main areas that are left are the wiring harness and ECU. Granted, you've tried 2 ECU's. Keep in mind they're both 30+...

Engine Water hoses that feed throttle body

Before you spend over $30 (w/tax and shipping) at LMR, just go to your local NAPA and see if they have any 1/4" heater hose sold by the foot, in the back. Probably cost you $5 or $6 and you can have it today vs. waiting a week and paying $30+. Just my $.02.

Hey whats up! More 2.3 power needed

I just noticed there's a guy on one of my FB groups selling a complete TC air cleaner assembly, with all the hoses and connections for the charcoal canister and it includes a spare VAM too. $25! He's in the FB group 'Ford 2.3L Turbo Owners'. Randy Hobbs.

Hey whats up! More 2.3 power needed

No catch can. Just a hose from my working PCV to a port at the base of my intake. For the charcoal canister, I used my stock throttle body. IIRC, the canister plumbed into the air cleaner housing or hose. That's another thing, I noticed you have a CAI. I don't think that'll pass BAR...

Hey whats up! More 2.3 power needed

You just keep pluggin' away. Nice work, brother! If I may make a suggestion. Unfortunately, BAR will fail the car for the intercooler. The way around that is to disconnect the current I/C piping. Run 2 silicone 45's off the turbo outlet and throttle body then connect 1 straight piece of...
