    i will probably hit it again this weekend. they will be having an open house so i will get to see what a lot of other cars are making. if i feel like it is showing believeable numbers with other peoples cars, i will dyno it again. unless they figure out the prob. before then.

    i had the same problem, bad throwout bearing and bearing retainer. get a steel retainer and a new bearing.

    yes, it was reading the rpm correctly. also, the mustang dyno website said that with a big gear change you would still only see about a 5% difference. Speeds8erM-1, if the mustang dyno is easy to get false numbers from, how do you do it? tell me everything so i can match it to what we did.

    i expected 185-195 hp, we all new it was stock and this is my friend who owns the dyno. we were just trying to figure out what may have been wrong. checked all the settings, over and over. made 7 pulls for consistency.

    i did remove the air filter,picked up 3 hp. turned the timing to 12 degrees, no extra power was recorded, but this could be because of the 87 octane fuel. i just didn't feel like typing about how i picked up 3 beast horsepower by pulling the filter out when it was already reading high.

    put a chalk mark across the hub to the ring. drive it around, if the lines start to move around from each other the outer ring is moving and that will tell you it is not in the greatest condition.
