    i am glad to see all the responses to this thread. It seems that 30mpg can be possible. Not that the stang was designed for mpgs, but when gas is 2 dollars plus anybody starts to take notice of their gas mileage and any savings possible.

    msd's. I had a set of Livewires before the msd's. The resistance was from 1500-3000ohms on the livewires. The highest msd resistance was 175ohms. And the msds were cheaper.

    i say stick with what u got. it should run some good times. if it is an everyday driver then go tighter, but for et stick with it. I ran alot less cam with a 3000 converter and it worked great at the track. Did fine on the street but it wasn't an everyday driver either.

    if i was u i would do a leak down test. this would give more information as to what could be causing the problem, valves or rings(cylinder wall scratches in your case maybe). Make sure you are doing all these tests with the engine warmed up.
