Dealer Told Me Last Night That He Sold a 2000 Cobra

"It must be a Cobra - - it has the emblem on the side."

If the drivetrain is in good shape that is a good price. Even if the engine needs some work, it isn't too bad a price.

    Considering a 97 Cobra

Just for reference - - I bought my '98 Cobra convertible two weeks ago for $9000. Only 24,800 miles and I knew the owner and that he had never raced or dogged it too hard. $700 for a new top and $100 for an alternator rebuild is all it needed so far. The deals are out there. Patience pays off.

    What is this underhood noise???

OK, time for my first "what is it" post on my newly acquired 98 Cobra. I think I have a bad alternator bearing, but I would feel comfortable if someone would tell me that it isn't a bad waterpump. I plan to spend a lot of time learning these new (to me) mod motors, but I really don't want to...

Rear end questions on '98 Cobra

Thanks for the peace of mind. What did the factory fill these with? It brought back fond memories of changing diapers.....

Rear end questions on '98 Cobra

I've never had anything to do with an 8.8 rear end before. I bought a '98 Cobra Wednesday afternoon, and was checking everything out last night. I pulled the fill plug out of the carrier and the end was covered with what looked like gray putty. It had a graphite feel and smelled really bad...

98 Cobra vert - should I buy it?

Thanks everyone for the advice. I brought it home yesterday for $9k. Alternator is whining and I'm not feeling great about the rear end, but nothing a good weekend in the garage can't solve. This is a really fun car to drive. Its not as brutally fast as my '67, and its a WHOLE LOT more...

98 Cobra vert - should I buy it?

A friend has a triple black 98 Cobra convertible he's selling to help finance his new Shelby. It only has 24K miles and is in really good condition except for the recent eight inch cut in the top. I'm a classic guy. I've never owned a "late model" Mustang. My first car 20 some odd years...

    '67 Deluxe/Autometer Phantom clusters -- should I produce these?

Reen, why so hostile? Why the need to attack me? I was just following your example of making a product then posting here to tell people how to buy it. I’ve been reading this forum for a long time, I just don’t feel the need to post every time I tighten a screw. Yes, I have read the forum...

    '67 Deluxe/Autometer Phantom clusters -- should I produce these?

Two. About 175 less than you plugging what you are trying to sell. You sure jumped on this fast. Nervous someone might cut into your sales? I really doubt my one panel will hurt you. Even if it turns out better.

You had a good run with a good launch. Beemer looked like it launched in third gear and never shifted.

    1967 Hood mounted turn signals

There should be a plastic, half circle box attached to the trans where the shifter linkage attaches. It will have a four wire harness coming out that plugs into the harness you've been playing with. The plastic box is keyed to the gear selector and knows when you are in park or neutral to let...

    1967 Hood mounted turn signals

That is the combo lead for backup lights and neutral lockout (the loopback side - you must have a manual trans or your neutral safety is bypassed - car will not start without it.) Hood blinker lights split off the main harness over by the hood hinge. You should have a lead from the trans that...

Also, while you are looking for a picture of this bracket, email the manufacturer and ask how the blinker and high beam lights are going to ground to the plastic gauge frame? One more thing for them to mention in their sales pitch and the installation instructions.
