    moroso trick front springs

They work well at the track. However if looks are an issue at all then don't put them in. They give you the moonshine runner look. High in front low in back.

ROUSH on the SPEED channel last night

I went to the Shelby Plant in Vegas last year. Let's just say if I ever hit the lotto I'd by a Roush.

    Tremec questions

It won't work. The 4.6 trans has a one piece case that includes a bell housing. Plus IIRC the 05 up trans has a flanged output in stead of a splined out put like a fox would have. Sorry.

Anyone else not liking short gears with their 5.0??

Not worth the trouble unless your really fine tuning your combo. I once went from 3.27 to 3.73s and didn't notice a lot of differance. I'm now a big fan of 4.10s. However I'm using a t5z with the 2.95 first gear. Also my wife's 4.6 2v has 4.10s and still pulls 22 mpg at 80mph cruise. Drop...

Anyone else not liking short gears with their 5.0??

I think the new 05s come with a 3.31 gear if you can't decide between 3.55s and 3.27s

    408 W combo?

I agree. Since you all ready have them get a good block and put those Victor Jrs on the 347. A 351 roller block while better than the late model 302 isn't all that great either. Just for referance. My buddy has a carbed 408 with Victor Jrs and a mechanical cam and it runs 11.50s @ 120+...

    3.73's or wait for 4.10's

Go with the 3.73s and take the money saved and put it towards a converter. The two together will really wake up that car!

are these good pistons for .030" over?

All depends on what your going to do with the rest of the project. I personaly am a fan of the 2488f piston if your block hasn't been decked. They have a taller compression height and no dish so it gets the compression up a little with no extra work. Those pistons won't make much compression...

Anyone have pics of a red interior withblack seats, carpet, and headliner? Not all that custom, but something I've been thinking about doing.

    260/300 rwhp/rwtq from a 5.0?!

The Cobra cam is not the e303. Some report actualy making more power with a stock ho cam in a Corbra motor. No idea if that is true or not. As for springs I'd go with any of the major companies. I've used the Crane drop in set with good luck. I believe the TFS kit is simuliar, but a touch...

    260/300 rwhp/rwtq from a 5.0?!

Valve spring would be huge. With that milage and running high rpms a new set is a given.

    thumper heads on a 347?

run what you have. The heads are easy enough to change latter. A lot more than heads are required to make big numbers. You'll need a matching high rpm intake, and cam as well. Sure they would be nice. The biggest thing is to know that it won't run with the big dogs. It can be a hell of a lot of...

    camshaft choice

1- an ecam won't work affordably in an 81 since it's not a roller ready block. 2- the ecam is not what I would call a high torque grind by any stretch.

    camshaft choice

I think that is the same profiles as the Eddy performer cam and one of the FMS flat tappet cams.

5 lug drum-anyone know size or part #

I used the advance drums, and they will loan you a slide hammer/bearing puller. You have to leave a big deposit, but thats not a big deal. I had the tool returned in 45 minutes.

5 lug drum-anyone know size or part #

Nothing specail is required. just spin it around till you see the cross bolt. It backs out with a 5/16 box end wrench. Then just slide the pin out. If you have posi the spring in the center keeps it all in place. I'm in the middle of this swap myself. I used the axle kit from summit that comes...

Powder Coating Aluminum Parts - Heat Dissipation

I have used a ball of tin foil in the past. It's easier than clay to cover a large area if needed. Unless you have a custom hood you should be ok with a 3/8 or 1/2 spacer. I ran a GT40 with a 3/8 spacer on a SN95 with it's lower hood line with no problems. I did have a minor interferance witha...

    timing issue

Many things can play into what the balancer reads for timing that have nothing to do with what is happening in the cylinder. For example after degreeing my cam I found that my timing mark/balancer combo was 2 degress off when the engine was actual at top dead center. I have also ran gt40 headed...

    To anyone who has 3.73s

You better find out what gear you have now. If you have 3.08s and goto 3.55 you are going to waste your money. You won't even notice the change. I went from 3.27s to 3.73s and it was a big waste of time and money. My current car has 3.73s and a 4cly T5 when I bought it. That was a little step...

    timing issue

It's a trail and error type thing to find the sweet spot for any combo. Just keep bumping it a couple of degrees at a time until it slows down or starts to spark knock. My guess is probably some were between 10-18 degrees with the spout removed.
