    Headswap gone bad?

    didn't have to take anything off. I just set the pistons below TDC (9:00) and cranked them over from the crank bolt using a breaker bar. Was easy as can be. Then just had to slightly move them to get the links to lind up with the dimples on the cam sprocket. Should have it finished tomorrow.

    Here is the problem. I torqued the heads down without putting the cams (cam sprockets) in the correct location. If I take the crank to 9 'oclock (all pistons below deck) can I turn the cams to get them into the correct position? What can I do to fix this. Someone kick me for not paying...

    I'm putting new timing chains on, so the timing should be a snap. I just set the heads with the headers on them in. Today was a really slow day. I spent a majority of it cleaning the pistons and swapping over and cleaning the rockers and valve lashes. Since this is my first time doing this...

    only took like 3 pix. I got so pumped about ripping my car apart, I didn't think about it. Already picked up the wire brush, wheel deal for the drill. Charging my batteries as we speak. Stay tuned tomorrow, may have more ?'s :shrug:

    I'm with you 100% on that statement. That was the main reason I got my 98 over a 99+ model. After the swap and with my current mods, I think I'll see some decent numbers. A more aggressive cam and a T.A. are in my near future. T.A. maybe for Christams.

    Got the pump off, and used a gear wrench, so it was a breeze. Since we were taking our time, we got as far as getting everyting stripped down including the heads. We have put in about 6 hours of work. We should have a majority of it finished tomorrow. Those damn pistons are FILTHY.

    No need for them, most amps have built in hi and lo pass filters. These are the best pix I could get.
