    I just swapped a 5 speed for a 4stb-e which is based on the 4r70w. It didn't require any computer controller. It's rated to 900hp. It's installed but hasn't been road tested yet. Car has interior stripped out for 8 point roll bar going in this week.

    For street use only, I have 315 Nitto DRs on 17 rims, 10.5 deep dish. They're very good on wet roads, lousy on the track (don't use them on track anymore) and so so for traction on the street. They do stick out just a fraction, but you have to really look to notice.

    My car is a daily driver. I have 4.11 gears and my street rears are 315 Nitto DRs on 10.5 deep dish 17s (MT ET Streets, 27.6 diameter, on 15 inch Bogarts, and skinnies.... for track only). That gives me an effective gear ratio of about 4.3. They're very good in the rain but lousy for traction...

    I went easy for about 300 miles and certainly no track use. They have made the car less user-friendly as a daily. With my street Nitto DRs, the effective gear ratio is 4.3. Yours might actually be closer to 4.4 with your tire diameter of about 26.66 if you have 275/40/18, unless my math is off.
