    Yes it's worth it if you just have it sitting around. You won't gain alot but they are usually worth about 5 or so hp on a relatively stock engine.

    Possibly your long-tubes have cooled the o2 sensors to the point they aren't working properly. If they've got some miles on them they may just need replacement.

    Oh-the higher octane gas doesn't pre-ignite (burns slower) so you can run more timing.

    When you cycle the key on,engine off,do you hear the pump cut in and "whir" for a few seconds? If not then the pump is likely the culprit.

    Common leakage area on our cars. Make sure a gasket was used and get the pins ground down. I know the exhaust shop that originally did my x-pipe years ago had to use the gasket and some exhaust sealant "goop" to prevent a leak on the passenger side.

    I drove my 88GT with 3.73's one winter. Was actually not bad. I would just pop the clutch at idle,the tires would spin for a few seconds then the car would catch up and i'd slowly pull away.     Most likely from when the pump went bad the first time. Clear it and if it comes back then start looking for other problems.
