    Strengthing Rear End Questions

Yeah the labor should be in the $200-300 range if you only do the diff and axles. Other things to consider-torque box reinforcement, welding the axle tubes to the pumpkin(only if it can be done properly though!!),a new differential cover with jacking screws to hold the bearing caps in place. And...

    Ratting noise - clutch/exhaust?

I'd check the cat first, just doesn't seem to make sense to be clutch related. Also look for anything loose on the top of the engine.

Excessive Play in Steering column after road race practice

Are you still running the factory rag joint? It may be getting excessively warm and loosening up on you.

    teach me on AFR

Well it's impossible to say what is the best because every car runs slightly different. GENERALLY though,on a naturally aspirated vehicle, anywhere from 12.5 to as high as 13.5 is ideal. You won't know whats best until you can get it on a dyno and check it. Easiest way to adjust it is with any of...

Installing Steeda Underdrive Pulleys for Beginners

LOL! Well,it's funny that you think i was offended by the pics, but that wasn't the case. I merely pointed out that trying to pass off a woman, who is clearly your gf,as a mechanic,IN THE TECH FORUM maybe wasn't the best idea. If you had posted this in any talk forum i would have read your...

Installing Steeda Underdrive Pulleys for Beginners

Ummmm.....it's great that your mechanic is a woman and all but what's with the but shots? What purpose do they serve? What exactly are they showing to do? Does your mechanic always come to YOUR garage to do the work? How many other mechanics do you know with the long "pornstar" fingernails?

Spark Plugs for Stage 2 cammed setup?

OK,here's what i know-the hotter the plug(to a point) the better the burn in the combustion chamber. You don't run a power adder so a colder heat range than factory is not required. You do have the ignition booster which helps with any plug you run but-stick with the stock heat range and go with...

Car is still cutting out please help

For what it's worth i had the exact same problem in my car for about a week last year. Of all things it turned out to be that i hadn't completely plugged back in the MAF sensor harness when i had removed the intake tubing. Would drive normal but sometimes it would just die, like i had taken my...

    Vacuum readings...

You should use a hose that is attached directly to the throttle body or plenum. There are a few of them coming off the lower portion of the plenum that should be suitable,on the back side of the plenum if i remember correct. With those cams you should expect 13-16 inches of vaccuum.

    Aluminum driveshaft Whats the deal?

I don't think you gain any strength, just slightly less rotating and static weight. Biggest difference I've heard about was the reduced driveline vibration. That's gotta be better for the engine and trans and rear end.

    alpine passive eq

Some of the old Alpine EQ's had a proprietary connection so they could only be used with another Alpine. If it does, then you're basically hooped cause no Alpine deck made in the last 10-15 years will have that connector. If it just runs through RCA connectors then yes,it will work fine but...

    Cobra brake upgrade question

Since the "Cobra" calipers bolt to the spindle into the holes currently used by the GT caliper bracket, you don't NEED the bolts. New banjo washers are a great idea when changing calipers. For $11 just get it and then you've got nice clean bolts to use,and you don't run the risk of developing a...

    diablosport mafia maf

It really depends on your tuner. The "best" option is to have a proper sized MAF that has the proper fuel curve dialed in for your flow rate injectors. The Mafia can do basically the same job without having to send your existing MAF to be matched to different injectors. It will get you in the...
