    I wonder if old antifreeze....

Water Types About 90% of U.S. water is hard. Most water is Europe is very hard since it has a higher mineral content than water in the U.S. That's why European and U.S. auto makers like to use a silicate-based HOAT coolant. I am not sure why some Asian auto makers use phosphate-based HOAT...

    I wonder if old antifreeze....

Soft water still has all the additives in it any source of municipal water has. The additives in tap water cause scale to form. Distilled water is better. Remember, it bonds to the crap still left in the cooling system during flushing. Now if you ran distilled water only without mixing it...

    I wonder if old antifreeze....

I think you mean silicates which Dex-Cool and Dex-Cool clones such as Prestone All Makes All Models and Wal-Mart SuperTech have none of. One of Dex-Cool's ingredients is 2-EHA which eats certain plastics. Since GM likes plastic gaskets it is really silly they would purposely use a coolant that...

Did i use the right coolant???

No. The red coolant Chrysler now uses (and has used since the 2001 model year) is Zerex G-05 dyed red. It is the EXACT same stuff as Ford Premium Gold which Ford started to use in trucks and SUVs in the 2002 model year and cars in the 2003 model year. John Deere has used it for like 20+ years...

1998 Ford Mustang GT Engine Block Drain Plug Or Plugs

Where could I find the 2 engine block drain plugs at (assuming there are 2)? I thought I found one under a freeze plug that had a 5/8" head on it, but I thought the drain plugs were more like the one on the differential. Might someone enlighten me as to where the engine block drain plug or...
