    Painting underside of intake?

Our intakes are aluminum from the factory. It conducts heat so much better than any ferrous metal. Adding paint will only make the intake harder to dissipate the heat, making it more of a semi-conductor. It would only hurt IMO. The metallic paint is ferrous based, which is the last thing you...

    TO bearing retainer differences?

I have had my Ford TOB on for over 2 years and I have not heard a squeak out of it. I doubt the TOB retainer, i.e. the lever arm will ever give you problems. It's solid steel from the factory. Scott

    Need help with battery issue

Also, with the car running check the battery voltage. If it's not at least 13V you should start looking at the charging system. FYI, using a test light to check amp draw is pointless. Your computer, radios, etc. will always drain the battery slightly. A 1 amp draw will completely drain your...

Pics of my new home-made ram air setup

Yeah, that isn't old school, it's the short yellow bus school... :nonono: I just can't believe someone would do that on a stock 5.0. Maybe he should read up on the principals of ram air, if he can read.

    vacuum lines under intake

Yeah, as long as they are not torn. they don't get any fluids so no need to worry there. You can get new gaskets from summit or local speed shops. While you have it off, you should check your PCV functionality and seal to the intake. Make sure the intake bolts are tight. Also check your...

    Window Tinitng Tricks Needed

What we do at my work for laying vinyl stickers/decals/etc, as well as tint, is to use water only. No soap. As said before, both surfaces need to be wet. First, cut all of your pieces out. Then get your car inside a garage, then close the garage door. Wind brings dust and no matter how many...

New goodies! Need a gear install how-to

Glad everything went well with the install. The abs sensors were one of the things I was worried about; especially since so many people broke theirs. But some PB blaster and they came out like butter. I guess I need to add the gear writeup into my sig again. I forget how many people still use...

    vacuum lines under intake

There are 4 vac ports under the TFS intake. If you remove the upper intake, measure the nipple sizes, you can get rubber caps for all 4. That is what I did. I made a small vacuum tree, hooking it to the vac port on the TB; The tree was for anything that hooked up under the intake. It makes it...

Any ideas before i shoot my stang!!

I would try to hold the throttle down for at least 2 minutes. That should give it time to go from open loop to closed loop. If the car idles fine after the 2 minutes, I would guess you have a problem with the MAF/ECT/IAT. Have you cleaned the maf/IAT sensors? Did you wire the dizzy clockwise or...

HELP!? Should fuel pressure show a reading on the fuel presguage if key in on pos?

If you take off the schrader valve on the fuel rail, you can attach the fuel pressure gauge there. You will need an adapter, but any good fitting supply store should have it. Summit sells it as well. Scott

It begins... Tons of new parts... Lots of pics, Special thanks To Pokageek

I assume he is talking about p/v clearance here, right???? Good luck on the build! And definitely get some 3.73's in there. Even if the engine puts out 250hp it will still feel like a fast car!!! :) When you pull the motor, don't forget to check the motor mounts for cracking. I forgot...

    94/95 Battery harness / cable

I would just buy some 4ga cable and ends and make your own. Just take a look at where the cables go and make a guess and buy some extra just in case. Scott

HELP!? Should fuel pressure show a reading on the fuel presguage if key in on pos?

Yeah, as soon as you turn the key to ignition, the fuel pump primes, and the rails should have pressure. Sometimes, you may need to cycle the key once again to get full pressure. Scott

    from the midpipe back....

IMO the only worthwhile increase in the exhaust dept. you will actually notice would be to ditch the cats. Other than that, I wouldn't mess with it. With all your engine mods, I think you are pretty close to maxing out your NA HP potential. Plenty of zing, you might want to work on the bling...

Did i use the right coolant???

I have heard the same from GM/Ford dealers as well. Keep it green guys!!!!!! Forget the expensive stuff. Personally, I use 30% green antifreeze and 70% distilled water. Scott
