jeep question (how to tune a carb?)

You are in the wrong forum. Asking a bunch of fuel injected guys to tell you how to tune a carb is like asking a 17 year old to buy an 8-track for his car. Try the pre 79 mustang forum. Scott

    Lower trickflow manifold torque specs

The manuals say to start with 100 in-lbs, then 12 ft-lbs, then 25 final and go around in the order specified until all 10 bolts will not turn any more. It can take up to 10 times for all to finally seat. Assuming this is your first lower intake install, do a search for tips and info. You will...

guys with c&l come in i need help.

IDK what that ring is for. Throw it away. The holes are for the factory bracket that holds the MAF solid from underneath. Maybe yours is missing or laying under your old MAF. I didn't use the bracket once I removed it. Just annoying. Scott

Did I get had by the performance shop

I put bearing grease on the oil pimp shaft to keep it in place when I am installing the dizzy. It really helps to stop it from moving around, plus it doesn't hurt the motor. Any experienced tech should have had that dizzy installed in 5 minutes. They definitely overcharged you IMO. For them to...

    major problems with the gt...

Check your plugs/wires/cap/rotor, do a cylinder balance test, check for vacuum leaks, check fuel pressure, clean MAF/IAT sensors, check oil for coolant and vice versa. Then remove the plugs and see if any cylinders are running lean/rich.

I didn't on my bolts and it has held just fine. As long as you torqued it to spec, I wouldn't worry about it. Scott

Here is a link to my write-up. http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=479678 That should keep you busy for a while. Read the install articles first, then my summation. Also, there are a heck of a lot of threads on this subject. Please search first next time. Scott

    New discovery

The bearing has 2 depressions on the inside rim, so that when you attach a puller to bearing, the puller will grap the depressions. The depressions need to be on the inside. Scott

After you have verified your timing, spark plug order and connections, do a cylinder balance test and see if any seem weak. Scott

    Launching in 2nd.. q's?

Yeah I disagree with that assessment. The reason 3.73's are so good for a stock NA car is because the powerband is so short. On a boosted car, the powerband is much wider, and you need to take advantage of that, spending more time in each gear, using every ounce of powerband you have. The 2.73's...

Im going to try and learn to paint.

You can live without the heat lamps. And the DA sander if you don't have any dents over the size of a quarter. A block sander will suffice. As for advice, practice and a good teacher is all you need. If you need help just PM me. I am no means an expert but I spent many month at my body shop...

Help wiring an ignition cutoff switch

Yeah I do see your point. But in all seriousness, if you wanted to find it, and knew where it was, it would take you a while. It took me a very long time to get used to it. That is a really good idea!!!!!

    Launching in 2nd.. q's?

If you still have 2.73's then you need some traction mods, seriously. You should be able to control it in first gear. Is your suspension stock???
