Best Plugs for my NA application?

A colder plug dissipates heat more quickly, so it's less likely to cause detonation. If you run plugs that are too hot, they can ignite fuel prematurely as it enters the cylinder.

    I hate wheel hop

It won't be as good as a solid axle swap, but it will certainly be an improvement. I just got my Steeda bushings and Maximum Motorsports brace in, and they made a huge difference. I hope to see significantly better 60' times once I get my new transmission broken in and hit the strip.

    T56 + Pro Chamber = not fit

I picked up a MAC h-pipe last night (Mustangs Unlimited is open till 9:00 PM EST!), and we'll see if that fits. If not, I guess I'll just have to take a little cruise with open headers to the nearest muffler shop . :)

Best Plugs for my NA application?

SHM recommends NGK TR6 @ .035. It's one range colder than stock. They recommend two ranges colder @ .030 for blown applications.

    Gears

I would guess around 160ish. You get a bit more top speed with a steeper rear because your 5th gear becomes useful. The theoretical maximum is 180 with 4.30's, but wind resistance will stop you before you reach it. As for beefing up, you'll want a pinion nose brace. You might also want to...

    T56 + Pro Chamber = not fit

My T56 swap is almost done, but the new cross member sits further back than the old one, and my prochamber hits it. Does anyone here know which other offroad h-pipes do or don't fit with stock headers and cat back?

The Limits of a T56 Setup???

The Viper T56 is rated to 550 ft/lbs and has an even taller overdrive than the Cobra T56. 1st and 2nd gears on either T56 are taller than your T5, though, so you'll need to step up your rearend. Here's a link to a handy dandy cgi script I wrote to compare transmission and rearend combinations...

    Headswap Questions

If I was swapping heads, I'd go for the 03 Mach 1/Cobra set with Mach cams and intake. The 03 heads flow both more air and more coolant.

    Rear shock brace helpful?

Actually, I was referring to one of these: http://www.snowperformance.net/proddetail.asp?prod=RS%2D3001 It's the same idea as a strut tower brace, but it connects the rear shocks rather than the front struts.

    Transmission gearing question.

Lol, thanks, but you have that backwards. You sent me the chart last month.

    Transmission gearing question.

The T56 has a much taller first gear than a T45, so 4.10's would put you at about the same final ratio as your stock tranny and rear. Here's a cgi script that will let you compare different transmission/rear combos: http://www.svtoa-atlanta.org/cgi-bin/trans.cgi You might want to consider...

    Rear shock brace helpful?

Anyone have a rear shock brace on their 99+? Does it help wheel hop at all?

Some real competition for the Cobra

Here's one: http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=464836 It didn't come that way from the factory, of course, but it's still impressive.

    Steering Not Right

Is your suspension stock? How old are the tires? Have you rotated the tires recently? Have you had a 4 wheel alignment?

Where to buy Idle Air Control Valve?

A Ford dealership will probably give you about the same price as any other place. If your IACV has crapped out, you might try cleaning it with throttle body cleaner (not carb cleaner) and shooting a little wd-40 onto the plunger. That brought mine back from the dead.

    97 Cobra: T56 Ordered!

Yep, it's 2.66. Gears 1-4 are the same between the 03 Cobra and Viper T56. The viper has .74 and .50 for 5th and 6th, as opposed to .80 and .63 for the Cobra. That 6th gear will allow me to cruise down the highway with a 4.56 rearend at hardly more RPM than my stock tranny and rear...

    97 Cobra: T56 Ordered!

Well, take this with a huge grain of salt because my car is nowhere near 11's, but here would be my shopping list: Weld in subframe connectors Short throw shifter (I like the Steeda triax) 4.30's Slicks and skinnies Off road H/X-pipe Underdrive pullies C&L MAF Weld in mufflers or a...

    97 Cobra: T56 Ordered!

~10 hours of labor for the tranny swap. Depending on your shop's hourly rates, you're probably looking at around $600. That depends on what else you're doing in addition to the transmission. The T56 has taller 1st and 2nd gears, so your car will be much weaker off the line if you don't...
