Best Shops in Or to get work done

Hmm, maybe I should about having them do a turbo upgrade on my STI ... :jester: AFP is a great shop. KK also a great shop, especially so since Allen bought it. I've had work done at AFP and I was very satisfied, but I'd probably use KK now if I still had a Mustang just because they're...

    4.6 rebuild, good shops

In my experience the extra airflow and its associated murder of low-RPM velocity is real annoying. You can make up for it with gears, yes, but where is the payoff? I'd bet a bolt-on 2V has more area under the curve than a 4V unless you're spinning some serious RPM. And for sure we know the 3V...

road racing guys i got a question

I wonder if they've had any luck convincing Bilstein to fix the strut mounts or if they're still doing the fix themselves. Guessing the latter, but I will be interested to see if Bilstein steps up.

    4.6 rebuild, good shops

That's probably true. When I had my 4V Mustangs I never changed out the gears. The odds of me ever owning another SN95 are zero, and a N/A 4V about the same, so I'll take your word for it ;).

Gutless refers to torque, that's why.

road racing guys i got a question

Another vote for MM. The suspension is about the last place I'd want to go cheap on, because a part failure could mean the destruction of the car, and maybe the driver along with it.

    4.6 rebuild, good shops

IMO I wouldn't go with a 4V unless it had a roots or twin screw sitting atop it. In N/A form it's a gutless wonder, I'd much rather have a 2V or perhaps the new 3V (not sure if that's a feasible swap into an SN95, though).

got your candles and flashlights out?

As much as some people got hammered, we didn't really get much to write home about where I live (Hillsboro). A bit windy and a lot of rain, but no more impressive than what we get at least once every year. The only thing I noticed is that when I got home Monday evening my yard had been nicely...

Cory, time for you to get a new car

That's good info, thanks! :nice: Whatever it takes to keep the track open, I'm all for it. With any luck, dumping all this money into the surface will keep them from having ideas of closing it anytime soon.

Who bought my Atlantic Blue '98 Cobra?

Well, here is a dealer with a used GT500 convertible they want 60 grand for: http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/car/488062493.html That answer your question? ;) Some dealers always ask markup. Damerow had $2000 markups on Mustang GT's for many years when they were anything but rare. Not...

Given that they've lost a couple big name events in the recent past, I'll be happy if they just keep the track open at all. It would be nice if they could win back some of what they lost, but I'm not counting on that happening anytime soon.

More likely that he's egging me on, because he knows that I've been thinking about getting a new Vette. If Cory gets a new car it'll be another Saleen :D.

    PIR repaving pictures

What I have found out suggests that the concrete at the beginning of the drag strip is untouched. The staging area and paddock are also untouched. The track surface itself is being replaced. In the case of the front and back straights, just the upper half has been ground off and replaced...

I don't know, but I'll ask Dan since he was down there scoping things out. I know that in addition to reconfiguring 5-6-7 they're repaving the whole track, but I'm not sure if that includes any off-track surfaces, or even if it includes the extension of the front straight where the dragstrip...

Rant: Fox GTs sitting high in the front

I was thinking maybe they were just lowered 15 years ago . Or maybe it's a new style, kinda like wearing your pants at half mast.
