    Need Carb tuning 101 class

Yeah fooling with the pump shot should help with the bog. My old edelbrock had a bog too. I figured out which one of the holes to put the accel pump arm in and that helped a lot. Course I also fooled with my electric choke setting (I know it';s not supposed to have any affect at speed) and that...

    Tuning an Edelbrock?

Sorry. I recon I should save the threads to my hard drive, or put the info on my website.

    Need Carb tuning 101 class

Take a look at the edelbrock tuning threads I bumped to the top. You can read through that stuff there and then let me know if you have any questions. I'm pretty good at screwing stuff up so I can tell you what not to do. :)

    Need Carb tuning 101 class

Wow 104 tomorrow. Um, the eldelbrck carbs are very tuneable and I especially like that you can take the carb apart to get to the jets without emptying the fuel bowls. Ill dig up some old threads on carb tunning for you tomorrow.

New Convertible Top Arived, Time to Do Something Crazy

So my new top came in for my 73 stang yesterday. I'm going to start dismantling the old one Friday. Hopefully I'll be able to put on the new top with the help of my friends. I gotta go find a stapler gun, but other than that I think I've got the tools I need. I'll detail my adventure for...

Carburetor choice (daily driver, 351cid, ~400hp, manual transmission)

I agree. I've got a carter 750cfm carb on my 351w. Same carb design as the edelbrocks I like these carbs better than the holley style because they are easy to tune. I had a 625cfm on my old 351w engine. It was fine and got better mileage on the highway than my 750 carbed engine. I thought...

    Engine Temperature To High?

I wish I remembered which thermostat I bought. I'm guessing it must have been the 185 degree one since that is about where it sits at low load/idle. I'm eager to find out what my milage coming back was. Going out there it was 17. I was hoping for at least 20, but at least it wasn't 12, and I...

    Engine Temperature To High?

How high is too high for my engine temp to be running at? We took my 73 on a trip to the inlaw's this weekend. It's about 330 mile from here to there and towards the end of the trip both ways my engine had creeped up from the 200 it seems to run at on the highway up to 210. Should I be concerned?

    convertible subframe connectors

I installed a set of the global west connectors on my 73 and boy did that improve my stang's handling. They are well worth the money.

    Which Convertible Top?

I got a convertible top for Christmas with a plastic window which I have just sold on the ebay. I wanted a top with a glass window because they are better in both looks and function. So, where should I get a new convertible top for my 73 from? Keep in mind that I am crazy and wish to install...

    Priming in my garage???

One more thing. Be sure and print off the data sheets and application instructions for the paint products you will be using. They will outline stuff like paint to thiner mixing percentages, and best application temps. And, a very knowledgeable auto body/paint supplier is a great help. I know...

    Priming in my garage???

The speed you have to move the gun across the surface you're laying down the paint/primer on will vary due to the material you're using. I'm sure you've already read/heard all that before. The paint suit is a good idea. I never thought of that for whatever stupid reason. I did wash my garage...

    Priming in my garage???

You really need to have your car clean anytime you spray paint or primer. Stuff will fall into your paint/primer and cause you headaches otherwise. I had a problem with one of the long sleeve shirts I wore. Lint was dropping off it and falling into the paint. I thought the shirt was clean till...

    ez2wire harness installation

I installed the color codded 21 circuit EZ harness in my 73 mustang a while back. I know a lot of people say to solder the connections, but I just used my friends fancy crimping tool. I too was not excited that EZ chose to use GM plugs, but it was easy enough to reuse the old connectors. I...

    Took It To The Track

Hey Bnickel, you going to the car show in the depot district this weekend? Yeah you guys are right about the 60 foot times. I don't know what gear I was in in the traps, probably 2nd. I think I shifted to 4th before the end. I've got video of my runs I need to get into my computer. I figure I...
