    Ride problem

Looks like mustangs plus had the progressive rate springs for the 65-68 mustangs, but us big body owners are left out in the cold. Coil springs aren't rocket science so I figure I should be able to find a set of the correct dimensions and spring rates somewhere. Right? I think they could...

    Where Is Your Stang Going?

Wow I did a lot of the same thing to my stang. :D I learned though and lost the long tube headers that drug on the ground, the high volume oil pump, high compression pistons, and went with a tad less cam. I kept the 351w, stiffer springs (although I'm rethinking that one now since the...

    Where Is Your Stang Going?

Hey that sounds like a plan. I'm working on the convertible top right now. I spent the better part of this morning's activities staring at the replacement top pads wondering how exactly they were going to go on the car. I got one set that is long enough to go over all the frame headers and then...

    Electrical wizards, I need advice

Yeah a voltmeter will help you hunt down the culprit. I also agree with the resister diagnosis, but the VOM will help you pinpoint the problem. A wiring diagram will let you find out where that pink wire goes.

    Where Is Your Stang Going?

I have a desire to go drive fast and that's driven a lot of the mods I've done to my mustang over the years. I have sacrificed comfort for performance. Now I'm wondering if the "payoff" is worth the effort or not. Here is the thing. I've got this great looking car that's a little rough on...

Is there an EFI tank for '66?

Really. Hum, I have a 73 mustang. Has anyone done a write up on modifying the 73 tank? That would simplify my EFI install.

    Time To Replace Seat Belts

Well crap!! I knew it might be a problem running autocross in a convertible. It seems that the modifications I've made to my stang are going to require that I install a rollbar before I can compete. I'm holding out hope that the race director will let me slide, but looks like it's time for me...

    Convertible Top Install Question

I found another forum in which the same question was asked and the people on there said to use the 3M Super Weather Stripping adhesive. I bought some of that and it looks like what was on the tack strips before. I had a really bad migraine yesterday so I only installed the new tack strips. I...

    Convertible Top Install Question

I finally got off my behind and out in the gurage to change the top on my 73 mustang. So far it's going pretty well. I only stabbed myself once with the screwdriver while prying the old staples out of the tack strips. Most of those tack strips are still in ok condition. The one big main one was...

Finally had some time to play with my turbo car

I keep thinking turbos are tight. Solve a lot of problems and create a ton of others.

    Time To Replace Seat Belts

The reason is because they are not DOT certified/legal and if you don't get the angles from the mounting point to the seats right you risk spinal compression in a crash. Then there was the thing about if you roll you can't lean out of the way. Course in my old stang I think a roll would be the...

    painting over POR-15

I actually have the stuff under my paint, under the fiberglass bondo stuff, around the area where i patched a rust hole in my rear quarters. I've had no problems with adhesion thus far a year and some after I sprayed the first coat.

    Time To Replace Seat Belts

It looks like time is catching up with my original seatbelts. The fabric in the belts is worn and starting to fray. One of my rear belt connectors no longer functions and the other's retractor doesn't work correctly. I'd been debating about installing a roll bar in my 73 convertible for a...

    Odd Brake Light Problem?

I'm betting that you have a wiring problem. Most likely a bad ground. I know wiring problems can be a pain to figure out, but you already have it down to one circuit and you know exactly where to start looking. Do some continuity testing with a multimeter and you'll know pretty quick what's...

fair price for the paint job

Holly crap that's a lot of cash. A paint job involves a lot of time spent with a sander in hand though, and with paint jobs, generally, the more money you spend the more time they spend on the car and better paint products they will use.
