    VSS = Vehicle Speed Sensor? If that's what that means, I'm not sure how that would be releated to my problem, but it's hooked up and the speedo works fine.

    This is not a "How I fixed", this is a question. This started after I did my auto to t-5 swap. The engine is a ton more responsive to the throttle after the swap so I think it might be releated. Here's the problem, the car idles fine when I start it up cold and warm, if I rev the motor...

    The car has it's own computer (ecm) it's under the kick panel. But I was watching your battery guage and it drops to around 7 volts at idle? I'm thinking the battery is bad or the alternator or both or the batt wire connections. Have you had them tested? It looks more like a voltage problem...

    Jeez, this thread is old. I guess that means the search is working :) Any seal, not just main seals, all go spring side in. Everytime.

    If it's an auto, you probably forgot to reconnect the trans harness which has the neutral safety switch, it's located under the seat and console. The car will light up like it should it just won't crank. If it's a stick, the NSS is up under the dash by the pedals. I would bet money it's one...

    The simple answer... no The long answer... No, the air and fuel are drawn in on the intake stroke, the valves close and begin the compression stroke then the spark is on the power stroke. So no matter when the spark happens, it's already drawn in all the fuel and air it's going to.

    I run 2nd gear with a 3 speed auto, both motor and trans are out of a 72 gmc truck. I don't remember what trans it is. I plan on running a power glide when the funds allow it.
