    Torsional rigidity test: 67 coupe

When I was mocking everything up I put a wheel on, and since the coilover's off I could move things through the entire range of motion. When the wheel's turned to lock and moved up and down it sweeps out quite a bit of real estate. I was also a bit conservative on top of that since I'm not yet...

Yeah, looking at the car in person, which I don't recommend, it was clear that they built the whole thing around the wheels.

    Torsional rigidity test: 67 coupe

Yes, for looks, and also because it would interfere with other stuff I'll have in the engine compartment.

Same answer about not being able to turn your wheels very far.

    Torsional rigidity test: 67 coupe

Yes, and your tire would hit it when you tried to turn. Everything is routed the way it is for a reason -- there are other factors to consider than just perfect textbook structure.

Battery tray & apron delete idea (pics)

So here's how I did the front frame reinforcement. The bumper brackets fit through the square section in the front, which is a bit oversized in order to fit my rotisserie. I plan on gusseting that part up a bit for stiffness once the rotisserie work is done. The upper firewall area is...

The photos just don't capture the sheer madness of it all. Picture this: look at the space from the center of the wheel to the edge of the rim. That's where your beautiful 15" Magnum 500s fit...

    Inner apron welds???

Here's a thread we had going not too long ago (the one referenced above): http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=719403 Regarding the cracks in the shock towers, I don't see anything wrong with welding them up as long as you do a few things. Strip & grind the entire area so you can...

Any San Diego guys here impacted by the fire? (and tech Qs)

Yeah, we've got ashes and smoke (not too much of either) up here in Ojai/Ventura as well from the fires over towards Santa Clarita. What gave me the idea was the newsletter I got from the Modular Fords forums, where one of their members lost his house. They're raffling off this amazing '03...

I know this belongs in talk, but it deserves a bigger audience. Does anyone know of any forum members impacted by the fires in SoCal? Post what you know and it would be cool if we could do a little something for them. ummmmmmm...has anyone ever done an EFI swap on an early Mustang...
