    Retrotek Purchase

Nothing wild -- new 345hp Ford Racing BOSS 302 (Windsor) crate engine. It should be super-streetable with this system on it. :nice:

    Retrotek Purchase

I've been holding out for Powerjection III but the release date keeps getting pushed back and back and back. I'm pretty close to the point where I will be forced to go another route and that FASST system looks pretty nice.

Shop owners: How has business been?

Yeah, I have to turn away shop work, but the parts end has gotten really slow. Seems like the guys with the $$$ still have it, but everyone else is feeling the squeeze. I can book $10k suspension/brake jobs but can't sell $50 parts...

Wow. All that cold air coming down pushed the desert air out to us and it was 85 here today. It's wild that there can be a 120° difference between us!

they should send you one for free for cold-start testing. My wife has relatives in Saskatoon and they say it's been a bit chilly...

    Retrotek Purchase

Yep -- $1495. That's without the fuel system, and the returnless system (that part is a small seperate controller box) adds $495, so the price will be about the same as the Powerjection I apples-to-apples. However, you can also choose to run a return-style fuel system, which you could put...

    Retrotek Purchase

I just got off the phone with them and the rep told me that the Powerjection III will be available March 15, which should work for me. If all else fails, the Powerjection I systems (satin) are currently in stock, ready to ship.

Wow. That's f-ing awesome that the electronics are now part of the throttle body unit instead of a separate box. I'm going to see if I can get my hands on one of those systems. Thanks for the lead.

Shop owners: How has business been?

Like the title says...how has business been? Our little hobby industry is funded by people's "spare money" and as gas prices skyrocketed in '08 there was less and less of that to go around. I'm seeing and hearing of shops and small manufacturers going under left and right. I'm about as...

    Hidden antennas

I'm all for the Tune Trapper. I did end up using it in the blue '68 fastback and it works great. Put it up under the dash and forget about it. I'll never have an external antenna on a car I build again. I've never seen one of those 12V "boosted" hidden antennas work, and I've only heard...

The "Mustang II" IFS Real Info & Debate Thread

I've got tons of miles on MII setups at this point with zero complaints. Even early ones I did with no additional reinforcement beyond the substantial Heidt's pieces are cruising along beautifully. I've yet to see any real evidence (photos) of a modern MII kit failure. There not for everyone...

Weather strip on FG rear deck lid

I've always used whatever weatherstrip K.A.R. Auto Group stocks. Yes, order two sets of trunk weatherstrip at the same time so you're sure you have two identical sets. Consume one as part of the bodywork, and then install the other during final assembly.

The Reenmachine '65 Fastback Vintage Racer Unveiled!

Oh, I know all about it. I was way into it in my junior high years before I got into Mustangs, and bought the re-release of the Tamiya Frog on a nostalgia lark about 6 months ago. Now I've got 6 cars and I'm waaay into touring car racing. My R/C racing pit area is more impressive and...
